Tried to edit my post, but can't:

Edit - Looking at the DVD contents, there's 45 tracks (they've numbered two tracks as number '32'). The two missing due to camera problems appear to be 'A Means To An End' and 'These Days'. It appears that they only performed one of the 'Warsaw' demos ('At A Later Date) and missed the other four (can't say I blamed them).

That Joanna anecdote is the only good thing to come out of Revenge.
Re KJ, there was a little talk in the press in late 93; Hooky was half-way into the next Revenge album but temporarily shelving it for Killing Joke. Neither project really took off, but Revenge and Monaco used Pumpkin (Microbes), Under The Stars (Porn To Kill) and Tender, and Hooky and Coleman ''''''''''worked'''''''''' on Freispiel. I like helping.
I think it's hilarious that Hooky insisted Revenge were a democracy but had the entire band on hold for his own project. Would CJ have been granted the same largesse?

I seem to remember a radio show that Hooky was hosting, around Christmas / New Year, probably 1993/4. He mentioned the KJ project then and played 'Love Like Blood', IIRC.

Born To Kill / Under The Stars was also the Mrs Merton theme, I think.

Re: Mrs Merton. Was Hooky & The Boys Revenge or Monaco or what? It was all New Order-lite anyway although Pottsy seemed alright.

And just remembered he couldnt let it go without having a dig when she died and making it all about him. Hooky Me-Me..always the victim.

Is this 40th anniversary lark turning us all into 'look back bores' as MES said or is it just lockdown fever.

I have precious little time for Mr Hook these days but it should be noted that he was actually the victim in that relationship.

As for the 'look back bores', I'd say not this time, no. The 40th is a significant anniversary of something seismic to many of us, not least those in and around the band itself.

And FWIW (this being a public forum an all that) I'm quite happy with what Hook plans to do with The Light. One of his better moves.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off Nightclubbing...

I believe Peter Hook was abused by Caroline. She certainly looked like one dangerous, violent bundle of rage and Hooky has a reputation for shying away from confrontation. Interesting, too, that a guy who's never given a fuck about anything except himself, whores and drugs should develop a social conscience the day his book cums out.

So that room Bernard did the interview from is presumably THE room where Bernard works on music when he isn't in the Barn at S&G's.

Just thinking, perhaps he had just seen this headline and was worried that a crowd of angry Welshmen were heading towards his moored vessel.

I read peoples comments below the article yesterday but can't find them now. They were mostly "aww diddumms" and "Never heard of him" and such.I can kind of understand their reactions but i guess those of us more familiar with Bernard's sense of humour we would just think it was just Bernard being Bernard.I'm sure he's got nothing against the Welsh. Also in another way, you could say it was yet another sad example of people falling for a newspaper's sensationalism and clickbait. But that's all just my take on it.

Yeah Bernard did seem to have a slight undercurrent of irritability in the Headstock interview.I guess because of lockdown. He seemed to say at one point when an email came in that "Your set up appointment with Sky has been confirmed" which seem to indicate he had an appointment for something with Sky News? Or maybe he's getting a new Sky broadband routerLaugh

I watched all the Headstock evening in the end.Yes some good stuff like Craig Parkinson and then Maxine Peake reading out JD lyrics, Steve and Bernard interviews and one or two other parts like the band doing the cover of Isolation but other parts didn't really float my boat (the Irish band Codaline weren't my thing)

Just been on the Jack / Hooky live chat again.

Unsurprisingly, the chat mainly focussed on the 'So This Is Permanent' event yesterday (which I watched yesterday and really enjoyed).

Hooky showed the two 'proof' DVD discs that he'd just been sent for the PC&L boxset. He needs to approve these before the finalisation of the boxset. I presume Bernard, Steve & Gillian will have to do the same too.
But, yeah, things definitely seems to be moving pretty fast with that set. Can't bloody wait!

Hooky received a 'phone call from Twinny during the live chat. Apparently Twinny now lives in Wales and has some news. I'm guessing it's got something to do the boat moored there. He said he would divulge what he was told at the next live chat.

Here's hoping Meibion Glyndwr haven't struck... Eek

Just thinking about the interview with Bernard and Steve yesterday, I kind of wonder why Hooky wasn't present.

I was expecting Bernard and Steve, although obviously not in the same room, to be in the same discussion.
Instead, Dave Haslam interviewed them separately, an hour or so apart. I think they were also pre-recorded interviews. Going by those rules, it would've been simple to have a separate interview with Hooky too.

Maybe Hooky declined; he was quite busy with interviews yesterday. I suppose there's also a possibility that he and Haslam have fallen out. Can't remember if I've seen the two of them in any interviews post-Hooky.

I should point out that, although Bernard seemed to be a bit annoyed, I enjoyed the interview with him and, especially, Steve (he's always good fun and interesting).
I haven't had the chance to watch the Mark Reeder interview yet, but am looking forward to that too.

I think Bernard just gets a bit sick answering the same questions about JD. Seemed a bit happier once he was talking about other things such as mixing Zachs recent songs and the unheard future new order classic. There’s not a lot more he can say about stuff that was 40 years ago. Play the records they will never age.

Can’t believe his jokey throw away comments about the welsh made their news, people just can’t take a joke any more

Yes i think Dave Haslam needs to give it a break , to be honest.Too much JD questions and going over the same old story blah blah blah.He seems rather too obsessed over recent years.I'm actually becoming a little concerned about Haslam's state of mind.

You're probably right but, to be fair, he could've turned Haslam down, if he didn't want to answer questions of this nature. The whole point of the programme was to talk about Joy Division and mental health with, presumably, Bernard and Stephen focussing on the former.
The fact that Steve was there, happy as Larry, meant that the band were represented on the big day and, if Bernard was uncomfortable about answering JD questions, he should, perhaps, have declined.

I did think that Bernard seemed to side-step a couple of questions about JD and start talking about he was doing instead. Which probably wasn't what Haslam was after.

What I also thought was quite pointed, is that Bernard seemed to make no reference to Hooky and the rest of the band, i.e. two or three occasions he said things like 'when I met Ian', rather than 'when we met Ian' (Bernard and Hooky apparently met him together).
I might be reading far too much into this, but it certainly seemed to me that the way he was answering questions was in a 'deliberate' manner, rather than just naturally.

I did worry a little about Bernard. He just didn't seem his normal self. Well, his normal 'interview' self, as I don't know him personally.

I guess it's the cursed lockdown. Bad times.

Yes but it was a JD night. In the words of Jimmy Carr, the clue there is in the name.
