I bought a bootleg of an 89 gig 'Silence' and the sound 'quality' was beyond awful. https://www.discogs.com/...r-Silence/release/772746

Also responsible for that horrible 1991 Ceremony recording of New York 1983. I remember playing it in Germany at a mate's house and he said, I can't believe how bad it is. I said that was the point, attitude etc. He laughed, You fucking mug. http://www.enkiri.com/jo...cords_no_unofficial.htmlThe worst thing about Silence is that I didn't have much music and I was looking forward to revisiting the Technique tracks... There was a better 89 one, Decadence, a double LP featuring live stuff and some rarities (typical Razormaid and a soundcheck of JD instrumentals). https://www.discogs.com/...Decadence/release/581280Edited by user 12 February 2021 12:24:29(UTC)

Ceremony was my very first bootleg CD.... it still amazes me that it's still much more easy to find good/great live recordings from 1982-1987 than the Technique era. Even video recordings. I really hope they come up with something really good for the Technique box set.

I may have missed it, but none of this artwork is done by Peter Saville is it?
have they just got to the point where they can't afford him any more?
The design work on this doesn't really grab me, but then the Be A Rebel 12" just literally had a blue sleeve.

Good point Mr D, but there's Reading 89. Decent quality and a long, confident performance by their 80s standards. And yes, the quote fucktion sunks. My ambition is to be the new Jack Dee. But not as entusiastic. Edited by user 12 February 2021 12:59:49(UTC)

If the Detroit CD is the same as the version on YouTube it's definitely a soundboard bootleg. The vocals are hard left or hard right if I recall. Much of my music listening is on headphones and it's quite excruciating hearing the vocals just in one ear. The main reason I didn't but the CD. Hoping there'll be some better mixes gigs by the time of the Technique box.

The design work on this doesn't really grab me, but then the Be A Rebel 12" just literally had a blue sleeve. Peter Saville doesn't really do sleeve design any more. Even the box set stuff is mainly done by Howard Wakefield, though in consultation with Peter (as they're reworks of his original designs). Warren Jackson does most of their newer releases now, plus live artwork etc. Also, the book in the Definitive box sets and the live videos. Edited by user 12 February 2021 22:57:12(UTC)

Well yeah, I think I’ve never got round to buying a Blu-ray player because I don’t tend to buy many films. Most new films I’ll just rent and watch on demand or download or in the case recently with Tenet I actually bought the digital version of that to keep through my TV box’s store because I was assuming I’d have to watch it a few times to get my head round it. Thing is I paid £14 for it on the Virgin Media store but then next day I saw the DVD on sale in Asda for £10 and was kicking myself. Also, if I ever switch from Virgin Media I’d no longer have access to a digital version of a film I paid for. I think the only reason I bought a DVD player in the first place years ago was because New Order released the 316 DVD. Although I did used to like buying DVD singles back in the early 2000s. Well I guess I’ll buy a Blu Ray player if I can get one for around £70 and at least they also play DVDs as well. Edited by user 13 February 2021 01:55:43(UTC)

He did Music Complete (+ its singles) though. Was that his last sleeve art for anyone? (He did Kanye at one point prior to MC didn't he?) Was this before you realised you could watch Wonder Woman 1984 for free? Multiple times. [Incidentally I didn't spend much time thinking about the time travel in Tenet. I just accepted that some people are travelling in time in the opposite direction to others and they can encounter each other. I mostly tried to just enjoy the action set pieces. So many time travel films seem to have paradoxes (or "Grandfather Paradoxes") that I don't try too hard to make sense of it all. But maybe that's just me...]

Was this before you realised you could watch Wonder Woman 1984 for free? Multiple times. Haha! Yes i get your point. You got me there, yer bugger No, there was a number of reasons i paid for Tenet but downloaded for free WW84. I get a bit of guilt from time to time from grabbing everything for free illegally(I've noticed i use music streaming services like Amazon Music HD more these days than downloading from Soulseek for free) .So as Tenet was probably the biggest and most talked about film of 2020 i decided to pay for once.I had actually looked for it on Soulseek but the queues were ridiculous and i'd probably have been still waiting the next day and i wanted to watch it there and then one evening when i had a spare few hours. With Wonder Woman 84 i was perhaps not half as keen as i was with Tenet to see it that minute so joined a download queue and the next day it had downloaded. Another reason is when i download films on my laptop i have to watch them on my laptop which obviously doesn't have as big a screen as my tv.Why don't i copy the film to a USB stick and then plug the USB stick into my tv you may ask.Well, believe it or not my Panasonic tv doesn't have a USB socket. It's a model from around the mid to late 2000s and just didn't come with a USB socket.I'm not familiar with how to hook up my laptop to tv .Need to get round to getting a new tv.So, i wanted to watch Tenet on my tv in bigger screen than my small laptop so for all the reasons i've mentioned that's how i ended up paying £14 for Tenet. After all that i've still only watched Tenet once.Kind of got the basic gist (though don't ask me how to explain it) but need to view again to catch stuff i may have missed

Oh, so the Decades doc won’t be included on Blu-ray in this package after all then? I think there had been a few people on here wondering if it would be bundled in with the Ally Pally box but it seems not. Ah well. Edited by user 14 February 2021 02:15:54(UTC)

I really like the Be. Rebel 12” sleeve.
Good idea to have the ‘real’ art work contained within the plain sleeve.
Looks really good with the grey vinyl

At first I considered that it might just be the standard footage, without all of Christie's post-production special effects that are supposed to make the EER release so unique. After all, the listing is not billing this as EER. But even a simpler production would entail more work/expense. Could it be that the Blu-Ray will feature this un-embellished version as an option? I haven't actually ordered the Blu-Ray as of yet. I'm still awaiting my (apparently lost) delivery of items purchased from the NewOrderStore back on Blue Monday. It's a long story, but they supposedly have sent a replacement...
