From what I understand ...
"Big Chord" = "Ruined in a Day"
"Techno One" = "World"
"Chemical" = "Special" (!)
I don't know that content for "Here Are the Old Men" was ever decided, but that title needs to be used! (Although first we need an official DVD/BluRay release of "Here Are the Young Men.")

This is certainly possible, as this has happened once or twice before (swapping of titles between songs). 'Incubation' / 'A Means To An End' springs to mind as one that apparently swapped names at some point. Oh, and wasn't 'Primitive Notion' once called 'Run Wild'? Two working titles from WFTSC/Lost Sirens were 'Scott Walker' and 'Madonna'. I can't remember which tracks they were though, which one has a Scott Walker sample? I think Madonna might have been Hellbent.

Edit: There are a few duplications, you've also got it listed lower down. A few of those Republic demos are ideas that were never used, they don't align to finished tracks at all. MT One is definitely what eventually turned into MTO, and it'll be because of the Roland MT32, which was used extensively on Technique. Edited by user 13 January 2021 23:30:20(UTC)

Thanks for all these, Johnny. Do any of the others for 'Republic' line up with actual finished tracks?

According to this page, 'Recoil' samples from 'The Seventh Seal' by Scott Walker. http://forums.neworderon...osts&m=7001#post7001Never knew that (but then I don't know a lot of Scott Walker).

I wouldn't put it out as true, in particular, ahem, Gillian's G String. Yeah, I remember 'Madonna', but not which one - maybe Hellbent. Hooky used the name Aleph (STYT) in an interview about bringing back old tracks for the Sirens tour. There was also Atmosphere / Chance and Decades / Cross of Iron. Guts might've been an advance on one of their first songs, Gutz for Garterz. Revenge and Monaco went through a few title changes too: http://forums.neworderon...ts&m=29719#post29719Edited by user 14 January 2021 05:23:42(UTC)

Another, it appears Chosen Time was tentatively titled 'Flow' briefly, see the master tape photographed in the Movement book.

The first Electronic bout started with early titles too: Donald (named after the drummer), Wah-Wah (Reality), Big House (Gangster or Idiot Cunty). And New One, but that doesn't really count.

Restless was Sad Chicken (the opening synth riff was likened to clucking).

No, Jcp7. Madonna is misogynistic, soft porn bullshit that puts the feminist movement back 8632 years and was instrumental in creating the ridiculous and ultimately dangerous myth that a woman who degrades her body is not a victim or a prostitute but a new form of self-empowerment. Not Sugarcane. Edited by user 14 January 2021 09:02:34(UTC)

Please Johnny, help ensure these demos are on one of the Republic box set bonus discs, instead of more of the same recycled mixes that are already on compilations, Retro, Rest Of, the original CD single releases, etc.! =)
