The music is really not my taste---it's strange in a way because I don't mind JD (not a big fan but I like some songs) and I love New Order, but I never really liked any of the songs on 'Movement'.

Its a tough disc being that it is smack dab in the middle of the ending of one band, and the beginnings of another. In many ways the band - and the tracks on the album - slip back and forth between the two.

I don't listen to several tracks, for example - I.C.B., Truth, and The Him. A bit dreary. Chosen Time, Denial, and of course Dreams Never End never get old.

If you haven't given these (3) tracks a listen for a while...

Thanks for answering my question.

here are some images from a private companion book,
that will not be released. this is a partial one for
the first chapter. it will include a complete discography,
text, and images for each single.

there will be a shorter booklet available.

These are the same thing. UK World timing is incorrect (3:58 is the Perfecto edit). There is another, arguably superior, UK radio edit ("Spike's mix") but it was only used in the video (with added sounds from waves, motorboat, bikes etc). I don't think I've ever heard a "clean" copy of that mix. In an ideal world, that would be on a "Republic" bonus disc if a 2CD release of that ever happens. Or even better, a full length mix. The album version is clearly an edit too.

thanks, i'm checking on this now..

i should add the world mix of video from the dvd (or laserdisc).

how is the album version an edit? i guess i haven't listened to it in a long time.
maybe it was on vinyl? or different in the uk from the us version?

i'll get back to this shortly.

There's an instrumental segment between the second verse and second chorus that's in live versions and (well, half of it) in Spike's mix. I can only assume it was originally part of the song and that the album version was edited down to about 4:40 for various reasons? Not that many people would care anyway....

well, we're moving along.

regret is done, and we'll have the promo edit
added to it as a bonus, since jcp was kind enough
to provide that.

we'll be checking all the ruined in a day mixes,
and b-sides, so be sure to get those and check
them out.

i also added a few more tracks for the future.
the 'world (video)' version from dvd. sounds good.

and also the unreleased spooky (night tripper dub)
mentioned here: http://forums.neworderon....aspx?g=posts&t=1749

check out the blog for all the updates and news.

Negative bloke, why am I getting emails about your "pet" project when this is nothing to do with me!?

Just for the record, I have absolutely nothing to do with this project, this isn't even my website! and I would not, do not and will not share either personally or on via various websites copyrighted material from the band or any of the side projects.(nor any other non NO material)

p.s negative bloke, you aren't doing yourself, others, nool and NoW any favours by doing this "pet" project, I would suggest that if you wish to continue then you ought to remove this thread and delete all the posts within,you and these posts ARE being monitored.

just thought I'd let you know.

An ironic thing for me is that even though I personally want nothing to do with the project more than 5 of the Regret scans in his "booklets" appear to have been scanned by my own fair hand when I contributed them to Discogs some years ago (!) so I guess I'm an involuntary "contributor" after all.

That's the problem with Discogs ally, anyone can "steal" pictures from there and use them for their own ends. Some people on the other hand actually ask for permission to use pictures that people have laboriously scanned and added information to the various pages on discogs. thanks again Smile

Personally, I don't upload info or pics to discogs as it is far too time consuming.
I do take my hat off to the people that do though.

As for protecting ones pictures, a code can be added to any pic on most sites (cant do it on Discogs as it is "public domain") but it is extremely time consuming and a right pain in the arse to be honest.

the second series is coming up.
any suggestions would be welcome.

Recycle 2 - Series 2
====================

Series 2
======================
5 true faith 94
6 1963-94
7 lets go
(salvation tracks)

Code:

For series 2, we have the following:
------------------------------------

now come to an in between era,
where new order revisited a lot
of their greatest hits.

first up, true faith 94:
=====================
1 true faith-94 (us best of or radio mix/edit) 4:28 v, cd, cs
2 true faith-94 (perfecto radio edit) 4:05 cd

8 1963 (lionrock sparse'n'fast mix) 6:07 v
=============================
50 minutes

let's go, was not really a single,
basically a promo..

it came out during the time of the 'best of'
release, and they decided to add vocals to it.

the original instrumental version,
they came out with tracks from salvation:
=====================================

some notes about the posted mix in world.

thanks to jcp, i was checking this track.

world (sexy disco dub) and comparing the vinyl to the cd track.

note:
———-
world (sexy disco dub) 5:56 cd 126.9bpm
world (sexy disco dub) 5:47 v 128.5bpm
==============================================================
when you match the vinyl bpm, it sounds the same as the cd version

the version i posted had the faster bpm (beats per minute). so i might change

that track to the cd version.

also, will be adding this track:

world (the brothers dubstrumental edit) 5:39

to the final set.

there may be further changes once i get more feedback.

Thanks for pointing out Touched by the Hand of God (bias 2000), never heard it before but found it on Youtube. Youtube is a sort of database where you can search for things you are interested in.
There was also a 'Phased and dazed' RIAD mix I had on 'NO The Remix', a bootleggy CD. It was, in the words of Oscar Wilde, fucking shit: just whooshed in and out of the original. Mind you, I'd shelled out for RIAD CD 2 so...
While I'm here, does anyone know just what those Lionrock mixes of 1963 have in common with the original? I know I'm hardly on the cunting-edge of music, I just wanna know if there's anything going on in these 3 mixes apart from Lionrock's ego and London's bank account. Ho hum. The shite I bought back then in the name of 'completism'...
PS I have a theory that Tracey Thorn from Everything But The Girl is the secret love-child of Steve and Gillian http://www.npr.org/2012/...angst-in-christmas-songs

Thanks for pointing out Touched by the Hand of God (bias 2000), never heard it before but found it on Youtube.
