In spite of Bernard's shoelace incident, we continue with Temptation.
Nice intro.

Temptation intro sounded like Street Hassle from Lou Reed - thought we were going to get a new cover....but then it turned into Temptation ☺ Edited by user 09 October 2015 03:49:34(UTC)

Personally I think it discourages the crowd from singing the "ooohs" when they do that live. And I don't think the crowd should be discouraged from the "ooohs".

Got out of work early and managed to catch last 25 minutes of the video stream though it was on my phone so a bit of buffering True Faith, BM and Temptation , those 3 will probably form a good part of the highlights anyway! doh! So the songs i didn't see i probably still won't when i watch the highlights.Reading this thread i'm glad they did a few off the album especially Tutti Frutti - did it sound good? So i was wrong in my prediction of Brandon being the guest. 1 point to you Sir spittingcat! Want to rewind the audio recording and listen in full but the band are coming up soon being interviewed on Radcliffe & Maconie still on 6Music. What's the thing with Barney always wearing shades even indoors lately?

Brilliant show well worth skipping work for. The new material was great live. As others have said, November can't come quick enough.

well there's the gig. What does everyone think? I am a bit underwhelmed to be honest. The mix wasn't as good as the previous night, and the old songs sounded exactly the same as they did in 2012. They should remix them a little to freshen things up, at least use new samples. Restless I was looking forward to, but we couldn't here the strings and the song was played very fast. Lots of bands do that, play songs faster live, like 1.5x times speed. I don't get it. It doesn't sound good, it doesn't keep the musical flow. It's like they want to just get it over with. La Roux's voice was louder than Bernard's for the following songs. This was poorly mixed IMO. Nothing to write home about.
I wish the band will freshen up their entire setlist by either remixing "old" (as in they've performed since the reunion) songs, or replacing them with unperformed and rare songs. I've heard so many bootlegs and videocam recordings of their gigs from 2012 and 2013 that there isn't much special about seeing them live if they're going to do the same things.
the setlist today was: Singularity 586 Restless Bizarre Love Triangle Tutti Fruiti People on the Highline True Faith Blue Monday Temptation
This was their first gig of 2015. it's October. They've had plenty of time to freshen things up but it all sounded too similar for me.
I love Bernard's slightly different vocals BLT though.

They're performing entirely new songs! Is that not fresh enough for you? And glad that they had Elly's voice louder in the mix… she's a better live singer… wise to make the most of that. Barney probably wearing shades to hide the fact that he's reading lyrics for some songs. We all get old…. = ;87) Edit - my CD single turned up at exactly the same time Rocket Mick! Yikes, were they trying to embarrass the group / Bernard by playing the disastrous intro to Age of Consent from BBC '84 as a throwback clip in the middle of the interview? Humor aside, who wants a cringeworthy moment like that before playing a live set full of new tracks? Thought Bernard handled it well by joking about his shorts.

Thanks to a poster, we made it in. (Cheers Mr!)
Definitely not a standard NO gig but more like a live radio session in front of 200 people. I think there 4 or 5 people dancing in "Temptation." Which was most bizarre. They played well, the new stuff - especially "Tutti Frutti" and "People On The High Line" sounded great live : good to hear (and see) bum notes played live on "Blue Monday" and elsewhere. Give them a more responsive crowd and there will be great nights ahead. Also, I think this is the first New Order show since 1993 in the UK where they haven't played *any* JD material?

That is great that they will release Tom Rowlands version of Tutti Fruti , Bernard said it on the radcliff interview.
