^Ta for that, D. Worth giving a spin. Wonder where all those Hacienda regulars are these days. Didn't think that new remix improved much on the orginal but cheers.

I've been looking up some old REM stuff recently. Reminded how big their Automatic For The People album was circa 1992-1994. Of their later albums, i did buy and like a lot of Up from early 2000s. From it, this was certainly an eye catching video. Or at least back then it was.Stipe always had a pretty affecting vocal.

And of course i have to say RIP David Lynch. I watched Blue Velvet again last weekend. Doesn't have quite the same impact it once did but no denying what an incredible guy Lynch was. I'll watch my Twin Peaks : The Return DVD box set again when i get a chance. Possibly the greatest tv series ever. Way surpassed the original first 2 series .

From Blue Velvet.

Doves new album. Had my doubts at first but after a few listens there's some cracking tunes. Cold Dreaming, Strange Weather, Stupid Schemes, Saint Teresa and Southern Bell .

RIP Clem Burke, drummer extrordinaire with Blondie. Saw Blondie a couple of times in early 2000s after they reformed, following "Maria" in 1999. Glad that I did.

I think Up was their last good album. It's certainly the last one that I felt compelled to buy.
Glad that I caught them (once) at a last minute Brixton Academy gig, put on as a "warm up" for their Glastonbury headliner slot. Google suggests that that was as long ago as 2003. Crumbs!
The Brixton gig was a mixed bag of big songs and "deep cuts". Just found it on Setlist FM. Track 17: Imitation Of Life.

Another great album from Nation of Language. Instead of links to individual songs, this is the full playlist. If you're in the mood for 1981-era Hooky, check out "Now that You're Gone" but I like everything here. My current favourite is the Little River Band mellowness meets early Kraftwerk pulse of "Can You Reach Me?".

Apparently this came out in 2014. I just heard it yesterday.
Wasn't a fan of the overly hype-y Operation Blade. But I kinda like how the Confusion Pump Panel Reconstruction has been sampled here.

MOGUAI - ACIIID (Original Mix)

This mix came out more recently in 2019, i believe.
MOGUAI - ACIIID (Kryder x Benny Benassi Remix) [Official Music Video]

I like this slowed down sexy-groove version. At least until the added topline stuff comes in - which sounds a bit "EDM festival" IMHO.
ACIIID (Whiiite's Future1Hundred Remix) - Moguai

^ Thanks for those, Debaser. Yep a lot of Pump Panel Deconstruction Mix going through all of those. Also sounds like Spastik by Plastikman weaving in and out of the second one. We were talking about Spastik a couple years back weren't we and trying to work out if the Chems had sampled it on No Reason.

Me, i've been revisiting some old Ladytron stuff from 2000s lately. They did do some good songs- Runaway, Tomorrow, Deep Blue, Sugar, Destroy Everything You Touch, Ghosts and Ace Of Hz to name a few. But their albums were often a bit hit and miss for me. They're still knocking around and have a new album out next year and i might even try and catch them live for the first time.

Front woman Helen Marnie i learnt now runs a Coffee shop in Montrose called Tomorrow Is Another Day, think that's the title also of last track on their most recent album from 2023. So,if i'm ever up Montrose way it'd be nice to pop in but i'd probably be a little starstruck if she was actually in there serving Latte. Anyway, i always preferred that Bulgarian beauty, Mira ArayoSmile

This was either
A) Very clever as the track(s) I posted kinda deconstruct the Pump Panel thingy.
B) a typo
C) news to me that there's another mix called the "Pump Panel Deconstruction" which I haven't heard.

I'm gonna go with A for now.

And you learn something new every day!

This is probably my fave Ladytron track. And this version is 50% Soulwax really.

Most remixer/producers wouldn't think of taking an electronic song and "rocking it up" in a remix. But Soulwax/ 2ManyDJs aren't most remixers.
I guess the purist Ladytron fans (if they exist) might not see this as proper Ladytron, but for me it's simply one of my fave remixes ever.

LADYTRON - Seventeen (Soulwax Mix)

^ It was none of A, B or C. Not even a typo.I just misremembered it as Deconstruction, not Reconstruction.Even though you had said Reconstruction in your post.

Played that Ladytron remix by Soulwax. Didn't do much for me but i did like watching the Logan's Run clips in the vid. I remember the film and tv series from the 70s.Thanks.

Ladytron are one of those bands that have a sound that is right up my alley but the songwriting has never grabbed me.

Saw them open for Chemical Brothers years ago and yes, Mira left more of an impression on me than the tunes.

Took a leap into a band that's trending out here and am pleasantly surprised. Their sound is a little oddball compared to why we're all at this site but the album is really good. To the point that I'm going to explore their previous releases:

Yep , well they did have a few, just a few, really good songs but generally the songwriting didn't cut it. I always warmed much more to Mira than Helen.
