So, as we get closer to release date, any idea what the lowest price both the Low Life set and accompanying 12"s have been?
Amazon UK currently shows the box at £121.23, plus 3 x £14.99. £166.23 in total.
I decided to order through Amazon, mainly because I was annoyed that the PC&L set dispatched from the NO store didn't have that nifty 'Obi-style' band that the ones in other stores had.
I was a bit concerned that I would be over-paying because of it but, thanks to the hefty price drop on Amazon (£143.99 when I ordered it), I should make a saving of at least £8.76 compared to the £174.99 on the NO store. It could be more, depending on the 'price-promise' final price.
I also ordered the limited The Perfect Kiss 12", as that wasn't available from Amazon, so will see which store is better when it comes to delivery.

Juno have it at £119 but you probably don't get free delivery like you do with Amazon.
I'm not sure you're guaranteed one of those Obi bands, whoever you order it from.

You're probably right. I think it was only added so that a 'age rating' could be put on the box (probably in case minors got to see Tony's cock and balls in 'Play At Home' ). It's doubtful that there'd be a need for one in the Low Life one (unless Bernard/Peter whacked their tackles out in the middle of the Toronto gig). I know it was mentioned that some Amazon ones didn't have the Obi band, but all the ones I know about dispatched by the NO Store didn't have one. In fact, I actually contacted the NO Store to try and scrounge a band. they didn't have any. Seems one was more likely to get one from more generalised retailers, such as Amazon. hence why I've ordered one from them this time. Looking back, I think I bought the Movement one from Amazon and didn't get an Obi band, but I don't think anyone did (again, probably nothing in the set to warrant an 'age-restriction' indicator on it).

^Oh, right.Um.When it was stated "Mirrored Sleeve" edition of TPK i had in mind something like mirrored cardboard... That Discogs image it just looks like the person taking the photo is reflected in the cellophane wrapper that hasn't been removed yet

I also ordered the limited TPK 12" from the New Order store but the box from Amazon. My order for the box states a delivery day of February 1st, yet when viewing to purchase one now it's "FREE Release Day delivery Friday, January 27". Hmm. Current price listed there is $153.99 (£124.88). Regardless, I'm sure the box will show before the 12".

I think you'll probably get the box on release date, Andy.
Fingers crossed for you, anyway.
Just checked my order email for TPK from the New Order Store. I forgot I paid £5.99 postage on that. Seems a little steep.

I swear i recall recieving the Movement and PCL boxes the day before the official release date. I bought the Movement box from Amazon and the PCL one from the NO store. Possibly i recieved the Movement box not until release day, not 100% sure but i definitely recieved the PCL box a day before as i remember ending up late on a Thursday night watching the DVDs when i had work on the Friday morning. Maybe if you order from the NO store you recieve delivery a day early. Anyway i've ordered from Amazon this time and it currently states delivery won't be til next Wednesday 1st Feb Still, holding out hope i'll get it much sooner.

Looking back through messages, emails etc., my Movement box (from Amazon) arrived on release date. DigiMike's (also from Amazon) actually arrived a day early, which is rare for Amazon.
My PC&L one (from NO Store) came a day early. DigiMike's (from Amazon) arrived on release date.
i think if one ordered through Amazon, chances are it'll arrive on Friday. If one ordered through the NO Store, there's probably a chance it'll arrive a bit early.
Maybe the NO Store want to make sure people get them on release date, so send them a day earlier than they need to, just in case. Then the couriers deliver them anytime over a couple of days' delivery window.
Amazon, being the 'delivery machine' that they are, probably just churn out their deliveries using their own couriers (Amazon Logistics?). Everything gets treated the same and delivered exactly when they say it will.

That Discogs entry did initially say it was for the clear vinyl one with mirrored sleeve, but the barcode and the images are of the standard issue. It does look very much more mirrored. I edited the entry.
The box (well mine anyway) does have a band across it. No idea why, possibly some language on one of the shows.

Thanks for the info JJ!
Hoping mine comes with a band.
You know, if you ever spot a spare band for PC&L hanging around offices, please think of me. I’d reimburse postage etc.

Despite the Amazon postage being free I paid £3.99 extra to try to get it sooner.
Even so Amazon are saying I won't get it until Tuesday! Going to be pretty annoyed if that is the case.
Amazon are getting worse. I remember getting my Retro boxset the day before release (but that was years ago).
BTW I found the PCL OBI to be a pain in the arse (I ended up binning it).
THE OBI is too big to store inside the box (without folding it). Also If you keep it in place on the box (then you have to keep removing it to open the box and it will likely get snagged).

Oh no!!!!!! I'd've gladly taken it off your hands! Granted, they probably are a pain, but still, I'd like one. If anyone else is thinking of binning their's, please let me know, Hope yours turns up sooner than Tuesday. Fingers crossed.

Incidentally, I don't open the boxes that often, for fear of damaging them. I ripped the CDs and DVDs immediately and transferred these to my hard-drive / iPhone for regular consumption.
The only thing that I open them for is for those lovely hard-back books. Still, I wish these were available as digital versions. Would mean a) I could mostly leave the boxes alone and b) it would be easier to read the books, especially in bed etc.

I am normally quite anal about these kind of things (storing hype stickers etc). But this OBI is difficult to store. I suppose you could cut the tape join and roll it up and store inside a lavatory roll (cut to size). BTW I just called Amazon Customer Services to try to get my delivery moved to Friday... ...but apparently the computer says no! I told them they could forget me ordering from them ever again. Previously I have emailed Jeff Bezos (and subsequently got £130 in vouchers) - but I can't really be bothered this time. Edited by user 25 January 2023 04:59:11(UTC)

I wonder how today’s UK Amazon strikes might’ve affected our delivery dates.

Hmm. Just noticed that my box set is due to be delivered on 31/01/23. Tuesday.
Dammit.
Got to be strike related, as preordered a couple of months ago.
Weirdly, the 12”s are still due on 27/01/23.

Weirdly, the 12”s are still due on 27/01/23. My Amazon has said 31 Jan for months. Sometimes it just ships on time anyway, but it's rather odd given that it lists the release date as 27th in the listing.

When I questioned Amazon yesterday about the fact that I had paid £3.99 for Premium Delivery and yet the delivery date was Tuesday...
...they said they couldn't change the arrival date because of where the stock was coming from.
Should have asked them where it was coming from (presumably Australia!).
