I liked the jellyfish during Vanishing Point. Wish they’d included the Planet Funk remix live version on the tv broadcast. Guess I’d have to buy the Blu Ray if I want to see it

Loved it at the Hollywood Bowl gig that year and again in Long Beach a couple of months before Ally Pally. But I'd welcome most ANYTHING from Technique back into the live set. Not sure or not if I'm in the minority of those preferring the LP version of Waiting For the Sirens' Call to the Planet Funk remix. I sort of wonder if they partly chose it because it downplays the last great bassline of Mr. Hook...

^ I like the live version of the Planet Funk remix more than the remix itself. The live version is a great hybrid of the album version and the remix, and some added keyboard flourishes to boot. Probably like the original WFTSC album version a lot more than the recorded Planet Funk remix. The live version of Planet Funk remix is my fave of all them. Edited by user 12 April 2021 12:25:19(UTC)

Yes, Vanishing Point was played for MILF. I didn't make the gigs but it's on the CD. Cun't comment on the mixes or cutting. Technique is a funny one though. It's considered their best studio one but the hardest to do justice to live. Bernard conments on that on the Glasgow DVD, Fine Time isn't a live favourite, and the TWO times they did Guilty Partner it was a bit of a mess. The 89 bootlegs are surprisingly raw too, given that it was their most pro tour to date and the start of set lists. Edited by user 12 April 2021 13:24:23(UTC)

Well , don’t forget, that could be to do with the audio problems I had when capturing the video from the tv box to laptop, which I mentioned in my previous post. I may try have another crack at a decent capture of it if I get time. Nah, I took that into account. At an actual show Barney's lack of vocal chops don't get exposed so much as they do on film but sheesh... Where once it was endearing hearing him reach for that elusive key - sometimes hitting it, sometimes not - these days he's a bit more 'singerly', as though he's had coaching to work on his phrasing, which comes over flat instead of heroically off-pitch but passionate. I mean, an extra 30 years will do that to you...

Big lost opportunity imo was Dream Attack at the MIF shows...Kept waiting for Barney's glorious 'solo' at the crescendo but it never comes and ends up a damp squib. 3 guitarists and it sounded lesser than 89 :(

The live Dream Attacks from 89 don't compare. Clunky by comparison. I bought the MILF CD but haven't heard it enuff to comment.

One of the missing tracks from the Sky broadcast of EER was TPK. You can now watch it here.

If anyone's still interested, i re-did a capture from tv box to laptop and fixed the audio issues that were a problem in my first attempt.Got rid of that horrible audio sound that plagued the first half hour or so of my first run at it.Also synced the audio and video precisely on second go.I noticed later on that the first attempt the audio and video were a moment or two out of sync but i worked out how to fix that. Also inserted the Perfect Kiss in from a YouTube rip of the clip that was released on Friday.Have edited in to the place where it was in the setlist after Plastic.Anyway, PM if you want the better copy.Or alternatively buy the Blu Ray in a couple of weeks.
If nothing else i used retrying the capture as an excuse to trial and error my capture box and OBS Studio software that came with it.It's all educating (and entertainment and recreation?) Anyone here familiar with OBS Studio? It can be a bugger to get the hang of!

Wow, just got an email that my deluxe bundle has shipped!
I was thinking this wasn't coming out until July, forgetting that 7/5 in the UK is May 7th, not July 5th.

Thanks for the review links, Linus/Andy.
Although they're positive, which as a buyer I'm pleased about, this particular quote had me dry-vomiting:
"...while 'Decades' is one for the lighters to come out to."
Sounds like a review of a Simply Red gig.

My package arrived today (I opted for the 2xCD, 1xBD combo).
I have to admit, it's a handsome package. Quality book housing the discs and a fair amount of images. And the book slides into a very nice, premium-feeling slipcase. There's also a sticker on the shrink-wrapping detailing the contents (for those that are interested).
Really nice! Ripping the audio discs now.

Listening on Spotify.
They sound so massive in-person, but their live albums make them sound so neutered, especially on their rock stuff. Steve's drums sound so flat, despite beating the shit out of them in-person.
Would love a decent mix on a live album for once.
The electronic stuff does sound good tho.

That's a very good point. For me, the only official release that really represents NO's live soundscape remains the BBC Glastonbury 1987 CD. 511 worth a mention, though? Originally Posted by: Wax Listening on Spotify.

Hi - I am an old user of this forum from way back in the early 2000s...
Don't visit much these days - but my work finished early today - so I thought I'd listen to this new live album.
I haven't bought any of the recent live albums - they are not really my bag.
So I tried out EER on a 24-Bit stream on my Qobuz Studio streaming plan using a decent Hi-Fi...
...well it isn't brickwalled at least!
But my god is this sound quality really the best they can do in 2021?
The sound is flat - not much better than my 1998 Ally Pally bootleg cassette!
Glad I didn't buy the expensive box.
