If this album had a live version of "Be A Rebel" I would have considered buying it otherwise it sounds like the other live albums they released in the last 5 years.

Oh hang on, it’s a “ 94 minute tv special “ . So not the full gig? The Blu Ray version will be 2 hours and twenty mins.

So it’s not such a dumb move to broadcast it on tv before the Blu Ray release afterall then. Was puzzled at first that they would do something like put it on tv before release and that would harm sales. Well it still could , a little. I mean, if I find the 94 minute version is enough for me I might not buy the Blu Ray.Though you could say that the money Sky pay them for the rights to broadcast it would make up for potential loss in sales and it’s a promotion for the release bundled in? Though I don’t know how these things work so I might be talking out of my arse. But I’m hazarding a guess Sky would have to pay out for it, right?

The majors constantly fuck up. My personal favourite was Virgin with the Pistols réunion. Put out an edited, poorly packaged CD of the comeback gig after it was broadcast in full by the BBC... The words horse, gift, mouth spring to mind.
And let's not forget the New Order Story broadcast the same night as possibly their last ever gig and their first mainland gig for four years. Smart!

Steve's live drumming on Singularity is ace innit.

Looks like it has Mike Christie's post-production values. I guess it's just shorter, as per Fotz's comments above.
(BTW Fotz, Sky Arts went free to air last September. So it's in everyone's TV package in the UK)

They've just skipped over Love Vig, and are now on Ultraviolence. Imagine skipping Love Vig!!

Original setlist.

EDIT: now they've skipped over Disorder and Crystal FFS. On Academic now.

YSF. Yay!

Tutti Frutti now (so we're getting all the "new" songs, it seems)

Subculture, yay! (Tom's bass "solo" is too subtle, I miss Hooky here)

BLT
into Vanishing Point

They've skipped WFTSC
Plastic now (continuing the Music Complete emphasis)

TPK skipped. I know this is a big fan favourite but I imagine it's not one for the casual viewer.
True Faith now.

BLOODY COMMERCIAL BREAKS!!

Don't think I'll be watching this to the end, theres far too many edits: just leave a shot running for more than three seconds without switching to another, especially if its only to show the bellend with a beer in his hand dancing right at the back of the hangar that is Alexandra Palace. I have all the live albums they've brought out since they reformed, don't think I'll bother with the cd or blu-ray versions of this.

I’ve seen enough on the Sky Arts showing to decide not to bother with the DVD/CD. Otherwise I would have bought it.

Sometimes i feel it’s just best to remember the gig as it was at the time.

Girl with short black hair in front row getting a lot of screen time.

Liking the even newer tweaks to intro and more on Perfecto True Faith.

The ultra fast edit video switches are plain mad, jeez

Looks like I could only edit my previous post so many times before being accused of spamming by the forum.
Since True Faith we've had
BM (surprise!)
Temptation.
SKIPPED Atmosphere, but got Decades (!)
LWTUA.

End

There is no DVD!
At the gig you feel the music surging through you and it's a more visceral exerience.
I'm noticing the visuals more now watching it on TV (had forgotten the jellyfish for e.g)
Had also forgotten the bit where the crowd cheered each band members' name as it came up on screen.

I don't own a BluRay player, so I'm not sure when I'll watch the full version of this. But at some point I willl, by hook or by crook.
I said at the time that I thought Bernard sang well on the night...and largely I still agree with myself!

The too-regular commercial breaks were my biggest bugbear tonight. Which I guess is a backhanded complement to the gig.

Started watching my recording about 9.20pm so I could fast forward through the ad breaks.

Was pretty good I guess. A couple hours good entertainment with a few beers on a Saturday night.

Decades was pretty damn transcendent near the end there.

Not sure I’ll buy the Blu Ray now though ( besides the point that I’d have to buy a Blu Ray player)

I’ll probably copy my recording from my tv box to laptop, edit out the ad breaks and I’m done.

For those overseas , here yer go.I captured from tv box to laptop this morning and uploaded to MediaFire HERE

A few things to say- unfortunately the first half hour or so the audio has a weird and a little unpleasant sound, kind of like an echoey tunnel sound, ugh.Really don't know what's going on there. It seemed to resolve itself around 33 mins in after Tutti Frutti as the next song Sub Culture the audio is fine and great. It appears again from time to time later on in the video but not for long periods. At a loss to explain why or what happened but i guess i''m still on a long learning curve with the new capture device i bought last year. The sound is great for the most part though. Also, it's not in HD as i only have the SD version of the Sky Arts channel. So if you find SD unwatchable in this day and age then the video won't be for you.

On a more positive side, i edited out ALL the ad breaks and quite well if i may say so myself. There was something like 6 or more ad breaks, jeez.

File size is 1.24 gb

Well , don’t forget, that could be to do with the audio problems I had when capturing the video from the tv box to laptop, which I mentioned in my previous post.

I may try have another crack at a decent capture of it if I get time.

I'm going to have to go against the grain here as i really enjoyed the way it was cut/edited

The way the backdrop visuals mixed in and sometimes came to the front made me kind of feel like i was there

I was hammered though if i'm honest..and i was having a lot better time than the static crowd seemed to be i know that muchConfused

I paid for it yesterday though...stinking hangover and i led on the settee all day feeling sorry for myself

I only managed to watch the first 30 mins, dem blinkkenlights ouch. The vocals seemed a bit off too and it all seemed a bit underwhelming. I know we can't turn back the clock to the mid80s but there's something missing about the live experience these day, and I don't mean the bassist.
