Yeah - really like the treatment here. Definitely benefits from the fact the first remix batch was pretty unadventurous, so this sounds good and fresh

I wonder if we'll get a second limited edition 12" single of the mixes possibly pressed on pigeon grey vinyl ?

Sounds like my reaction to Krafty 12". I still haven't really got into Be A Rebel, simply cos I 'need' to get my free hand on a physical release. There's something off about downloads.

Think I like the other one better as well. Originally Posted by: Michael Monkhouse Sounds like my reaction to Krafty 12". I totally dislike vinyl, so I ended up getting the 12" assuming there would be no CD single this time. Edited by user 12 March 2021 12:57:37(UTC)

I really like both Reeder remixes - they put me in mind of the R&R CD back in the day, which contained a number of remixes, each bringing something different to the party but still pretty faithful to the original.
I may have to get the CDS after all, if it bundles these together.

I first knew of him as a producer and remixer of Bloc Party, and he's also worked with Maximo Park (who supported NO at Wembley arena '06). He's a man of many talents. For me the surprise is the other way around - that he ended up working with Adele.

It's been fucking years but I think it was the Glimmers 12" that didn't impress me. A bleached-out, unnecessarily elongated take that sounded more like an early demo than an official mix. Shanya Twaine can't conjugate verbs. That don't impress me much.

My memory a bit vague on Paul Epworth and could only recall he was associated with producing Adele albums.I guess it is indeed odd to think he went from producing the likes of Bloc Party to an uber mainstream artist. A man of many talents then, yes. Regarding the Glimmers remixes on the 12” , I like the shuffly crisp drumming . There’s also the Glimmers Dub on one of the 12”x 12” releases. Not to be confused with Glimmers Dub Version on the Krafty 12”. Glimmers Dub Version and Glimmers Dub are 2 different remixes. Glimmers Dub has a straightforward and urgent beat whereas Glimmers Dub Version on the Krafty 12” is more shuffly. Also always liked Morel’s Pink Noise Vocal remix. Shall we embed it?
Has Baker gone for a 1963 '95 approach? It sounds very "clear" for want of a better word. You can really hear the backing vox, though I'm not sure that's particularly a bonus. As time has gone by, I have forgiven the "BM/Kraftwerk" parts of the Maceo Plex mix. And I have appreciated the sort of synth-horn elements and the overall bite/toughness that Maceo's mix added to the track. Paul Woolford's effort was decent too (full length mix surely still to come ...Oh a 6 min NO edit), especially once the synth bass gets going. But with the other mixes I have the same issue that I had with the original track; it's a bit too polite, too "Radio 2" for me. I want the remixes to add a harder edge, and I don't think this one does (but it might work at the Benidorm outdoor discos this summer) So it remains Maceo + Woolford for me. Oh and also if we're counting unique edits then you could argue the Official Video edit is a slightly different edit to the Single Edit as it has diegetic storm noises over a muffled intro

Never heard of JakoJako or Melawati. Neither are on twitter, but both are on Instagram and Soundcloud, it appears. JakoJako InstaJakoJako SoundcloudMelawati InstaMelawati SoundcloudBleep has the 2x12" clear vinyl and the CD single listed for £16.49 and £10.49 respectively. The cheapest prices I can find at the moment for UK/EU. I think you could have bought Music Complete for the same kinda prices... EDIT: oh wait, the Mute site is doing the CD for £10.00 exactly. Here's a LINKTREE type thingy for lots of options. Edited by user 04 May 2021 09:47:28(UTC)

Wow, not released physically until 27 August - almost a four month wait!
Anyone know which version of Bernard's Renegade Mix + Renegade Instrumental appears on the black 12" vinyl released on 27 November last year?
I have the dove grey one, which has his first versions (missing the "Hooky" guitar solos in each), but given the black vinyl was released a couple of weeks after this, I wonder if Bernard's updated version of both mixes made it onto this vinyl? If not, then the updated versions of both those mixes will remain as digital/CD only, with no vinyl release. Albeit his "final" 'Outlaw' mix makes it onto the new clear double vinyl 12" release - which is a third interpretation of essentially the same mix.
