Hmm. Weird. Works for me and I haven't registered. Maybe it's a UK only thing.

If you have a VPN, try changing to UK.

See also the Mella Dee thread where Linus beat Lee to it. The Arcade Fire remix news may be of interest.

Good lord - they could have edited that down from 17 minutes to about 5 and it would have been watchable. So much repetition and boring rambling

On my hols in Marrakech, Morocco ( god it's hot), sitting outside cafe waiting for Real V Man City to start on the tv, cover playing of LWTUA (Ronan remix) which Shazam says is by Bellestar. Not the Bellestars, of course. Unless they did a lounge cover of it back in the 80s

Electronic
Happy Mondays
Northside
ACR
James (admittedly only briefly a Factory band)

They've managed to get South London's Carter USM on to this 'Madchester' comp, but no actual NO...

Link to Cherry Red's website in this one, in case that interests you.

Yeah - I saw it.
You're right, the interview clip was taken from 'The O-Zone'. I believe that particular show was a 'PSB' special that was broadcast on 01/10/93:

Here's the actual show. The Electronic bit starts at 17:00 minutes:

^ Cheers Perspex.

Neil or Bernard said in the clip that Neil wrote the lyrics kind of about Morrissey getting away with being miserable.Yeah, i mean whenever i'm being miserable i get called a miserable twat. Yet Morrisey was lauded for it. Ah well, such is life.

Though Morrissey these days doesn't get away with being a knob 'ead.

Nice that he stills mentions AHW.

Also has some NO bits and even an appearance from Mrs Morris.

Two 2023 films about business shenanigans that I didn't think I'd like but I did:

1) Air - the one about Nike chasing Micahel Jordan's signature for that sponsorship deal. Could have been boring but Ben Affleck and Matt Damon made it work.

2) BlackBerry - a film about the rise and fall of the mobile phone brand. The comedy-drama approach made it work better than I expected.

Both films have decent soundtracks. Air's is more 1980's US radio whilst BlackBerry is mostly late 90's/early 2000's stuff. However BlackBerry also has an 80's track, namely LWTUA. So BlackBerry wins!

Also on Apple TV in some territories. Apple showing BlackBerry? Kinda ironic.

Ah yes, I saw this mentioned on the Chemical Brothers twitter about ten days ago. Will these pics embed?

Yes they will!

There's some good stuff there - the Stones Roses, Sex Pistols, Led Zeppelin, Van Morrison, Underworld, The Smiths, Pulp - assuming you have the funds and the inclination to fill your collection with expensive pressings of stuff you've probably already got.

And I see NO's twitter has mentioned it now

A wee segment with Blue Monday here(can't remember exactly where) https://www.bbc.co.uk/ip...ratilova-and-chris-evert
Age of Consent for the closing segment (instrumental)
Good set of 3 programs if you're into tennis even if some of the music isn't matched up with the years they show.

Armond White, author and Culture Critic for the Nation Review revisits Power Curruption and Lies: NationalReview.com

It's amazing how much he reads into it and extrapolates all kinds of social and political meaning behind the album and songs. And flexing his vocabulary seems to be a key component of his writing. This is probably the most over-the-top review I've ever read of the album. It's to the point where I found it laughable. But hey, at least he likes it!

"
That radical gesture from the British band shames the complacent partisanship of Millennial pop."

"From Lizzo’s defensive self-indulgence, to Taylor Swift’s gender bias, to Beyoncé’s tribalism and the Bidenomics of Garth Brooks, contemporary pop eschews ethics in favor of social-justice narcissism"

"a far cry from the virtue-signaling that Millennial pop stars celebrate as “change.”

"However, today’s indoctrinated youth express their smartness through specious bromides regarding gender, race, and climate movements."

Crikey, he really doesn't like Millenials, Taylor, Bey and Lizzo does he.

Hooky has a fresher take on the tales of "Blue Monday": "I produced it with Mike Johnson, our engineer...".

I was always under the impression that his main contribution to the track was playing the "For a Few Dollars More" line over it:
