Agreed with most of those songs you’ve listed there, perspex. But I’ve always quite liked , or at least a lot of elements of, Player In The League( great outro), Who’s Joe?( great verses and chorus) and even Slow Jam . I Got A Feeling is also pretty catchy even though the music is old and creeky. The rest though, yeah not great. Thing is, if Peter Hook was still in the band I feel that’s the sort of crap they’d still be putting out.

Like : player in the league, hey Now what you doing, hellbent, such a good thing, I told you so (lost sirens version). Passable: Brutal, slow jam, sabotage, I got a feeling New order at their worse: Working overtime, shake it up, I told you so (WFTSC version) You missed Rock the shack! Yep. It’s good that we’re all different.
To be honest, I don’t dislike all of the songs I listed (for instance I like 60mph and Close Range).
I just think they all fit the same, fairly ordinary, mould.

I know exactly what you mean about Brutal. It set a template for mediocre dadrock - Hellbent is almost identical. Who's Joe is a gem, though.

Those are all great songs again but after reading the negative comments here I start thinking otherwise especially from you lollll . You need to start drinking more tropical drinks like pineapple or mango drink with crushed ice to make you chill out and enjoy NO’s music. |

Be A Rebel played on Jeremy Vine’s Radio 2 lunchtime show yesterday. Maybe it’s starting finally to pick up more AirPlay.

Yeah Ken introduced it as something like “ their first song since Music Complete in 2015. Well obviously the music wasn’t complete as they’ve recorded a new single “. He talked about NO’s 2021 tour with PSB and mentioned the upcoming PCL box set. Ken has now shot up in my estimation as he sounded quite enthusiastic about everything NO related. Nice one, Ken. Sounds like the attempt of someone trying to stamp their own style al over the song without any filter.

Think it was well overdue a new stylus and realise now that the tracking might have also been out of alignment for quite a while and may even have done lasting damage to some discs . Re-set the alignment and anti-skate and vinyl sounds beyond words now. Paid £45 for the new Ortofon OM5E stylus but actually wish now I’d upgraded to an Ortofon 2M Blue which I’ve read fantastic reviews of. £185 for that one though so ,maybe one day.But maybe not right now. In the meantime , the Ortofon OM 5E has made me conclude vinyl really is the best format for sound quality . The separation of instruments, the bass and treble and the sheer richness of sound has finished the argument for me over vinyl ,CD or Digital . Always been a bit undecided before but a really good stylus and correct alignment has left me gobsmacked . Oops I’ve rambled and gone off topic.

I'm waiting for the CD Single.
The more I hear this record the more I really, really like it.
It's a cool tune.

I finally heard it yesterday. Don’t ask me why... Good but generic. Or generic but good. Reminds me of the first time I heard Here To Stay somehow. Not destined to be a classic, but I kind of like it. Any news is good news in these times... And can you find anything non-generic these days, after all? Edited by user 01 October 2020 07:14:19(UTC)

I’ve heard it a few times on Absolute Radio as well in case that hasn’t been mentioned. I hope there isn’t going to be a Japanese cd with a remix that’s not on iTunes.
