Johnny played two Electronic songs at his show at the Royal Festival Hall last week: Getting Away With It (which he has played every time I've seen him) and Get The Message, but unfortunately no sign of Bernard.

I recently came across (tee hee) a Marr interview where he said that one of his favourite ever trax after the Smiths was Get The Message. Cool. I can't remember who it was, but someone once quipped, 'Electronic. The only band in history to START with a 'Best Of'.' Five minutes into Raise the Pussyfoot I knew what (s)he meant. Seven years ago i was commenting more or less the same as now.I was enthusiastic if not orgiastic about everything New Order. I still want live shows that contain more songs i like by the band , and massive 3 hour shows, as opposed to what the band prefers to play, although compared to what other bands , like the rolling stones like to play live, at least New Order, plays lots of great songs, and the Stones don 't . Other bands are capable of constantly tormenting their fans ,but not NO.
Meanwhile the Live MIF Is much appreciated.. Also if anyone is in Totnes,Devon and wants to have a coffee or tea, or beer , carrot cake, and ice cream or a Coke Zero and a locallly made chocolate bar or clotted cream , or just bask in a glow of love for NO,and the myriad of musical extra offerings related to NO, and hum some of their songs or sing the easy ones like guilt is a useless emotion or all day long or bang on a table the vicious streak rhythms or think about other bands like Pink Floyd ,or Panda Bear ,or the Echo Bunnymen, that is ok ,too. |
