I can fully sympathise with him. I have watched all of series 2 and was massively disappointed with the music chosen for it, or lack of.Starts off well in episode 1 with Whip It by Devo but that's about it.Only song i really enjoyed and fitted a scene well was Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper! I won't spoil by saying which episode or scene.

I do find it hard to argue with those honest trailers. The bastards.

Series 2 (sorry, i refuse to call it "season") is good but i think i found series 1 better but maybe that's because it was all new and fresh then.Millie Bobby Brown is great again in series 2 and i took to a couple of the new characters too.

Kiss Of Death on Nemone's show on 6Music last night.Yep, Kiss Of Death, not The Perfect Kiss.During interview with Erol Alkan who talked a bit about the track and about remixing New Order.Didn't he remix Singularity? Think it's on an Erol Alkan new album of his remixes.Go to around 59 minutes in on last night's Nemone's Electric Ladyland show to hear Erol Alkan talking about New Order and remixing them.

Happened to catch a bit of Pointless (BBC quiz programme) last night.
For those that don’t know, contestants have to provide answers to questions that have previously been asked to the public. The idea is to provide a correct answer, but with the fewest number of correct answers provided by the public.

Anyway, the round was on song titles that contain two or more words that are the same. These words were blanked out. For instance, one question was ‘_____ _______ Me (The Beatles)’. The answer to this one was ‘Please Please Me’.

Sitting on top of the board was ‘_______ And ________ (New Order)’.
Round And Round would’ve scored you a ‘Pointless’ answer i.e. a correct answer that none of the public had previously got right.

Obviously there were no fans of decent music in the people surveyed.

R and R isn't nearly well-known enough by the majority of the pubic - no wonder they didn't get it. I used to think the title referred to a static relationship, like The Spice Girls 'Say You Will Be There', where Emma says, 'We're going round in circles', but of course the Spice Girls' song is far better. I later read it just means the synth patterns swirl from one speaker to another.
Please Please Me was actually John Lennon's attempt to persuade his lady to give him blowy. I often use that fact to break the ice at parties. I don't get invited to parties very often. Not since my niece's second birthday.

I heard New Order on BBC 6 Music. "Big deal" right? But wait, this is quite good.

Soulwax did not one mix for 6 Music this Christmas but two. Both on Friday. Kinda. One was on around Midday and the other at Midnight that night (might be technically Saturday but who's counting?).
Reminds me of the Chemical Brothers mix for Lauren from 2015. Can't believe that's two years ago!!

The daytime mix is a cheesy but fun Christmas songs mix. You can listen to it HERE from about 2Hrs7Min, and when you get to 2Hrs21Min22Sec there's a snippet of everyone's favourite flexi tune: Ode To Joy. And Y'know it sounds kinda alright in snippet form here.

The less gimicky Midnight mix can be found HERE. The talking/interview starts at around 29 mins, the music starts around 36 mins. I haven't listened to all of this one but what I've heard sounds pretty good - if you like the Soulwax boys in their 2ManyDJs mode.

Yes it was Dick or "Richard McCourt" as he was called on the night. I believe he was spotted at the Troxy gig back in 2011.
And this explains why Hooky had a tweet from Dick N Dom a while ago asking for a follow-back and a DM.

I get the feeling that the celebrity version of Mastermind is a bit easier than the regular one.
Those with access to BBC iplayer can watch the New Order bit at 6mins 15secs HERE.
I believe 12 questions were asked. Dick got 7, I got ten. But yeah it probably is harder when John Humphries has you in the spotlight.

For those who can't watch it, the questions were:

1) which song released in '83 is the highest selling 12" of all time?
2) In Sept 2017 NO reached a settlement with which former member?
3) Which album had the number FACT 100?
4) The PCL sleeve depicts which flowers?
5) Which Peel Session song wasn't written by NO?
6) Which 1989 album was the first by NO to top the UK album charts? (the year alone provides the answer!)
7) Which Top 5 hit has the lyric "I would like a place I can call my own, have a conversation on the telephone"?
8) Who joined the remaining members of JD to form NO?
9) At which venue did NO play their first London gig in Feb 1981?
10) Which song reached the top ten in the singles chart twice - in 1987 and (remixed) in 1994?
11) World in Motion was co-written with which English comedian?
12) In December '88 NO played the G-Mex supported by ACR and which other Factory band?

Fuck me, that was hard, especially number 8. I had no idea... Blue Monday's a real rarity too. You'd have to be pretty hard-core to know anything about that particular ditty. It was only released once and is never played live either.
I got everything except The Beach Club. You're right though: half the struggle is coping with the spotlight. I've been an amateur comedian for around 10 years and still shit myself in front of a small, supportive audience.

In the heat of the moment I'd've got 2 wrong: first gig 'Hurrah' (not even the UK) and FACT 100 'Movement'. Still, I haven't been an obsessive for 20 years so it ain't bad... The others are hardly Mastermind-worthy. There are undeveloped life forms in Stoke swamps who know Blue Monday.

Anyway on another subject, here's a little radio show that Stephen Morris did the playlist for tonight. Which I missed.

NTS Radio's website is HERE but at the time of writing I can't find Mr Morris' show to listen back to.

**EDIT** FOUND IT HERE and/or HERE

Steve doesn't present; Tim Noakes does. So they're just Steve's choices.

TRACKLIST:
1) Wind On Wind - Robert Fripp & Brian Eno
2) Deluxe (Immer Wieder)- Harmonia
3) Silent Shout - The Knife
4) Dream Baby Dream - Suicide (Debaser comment: Bruce Springsteen does a pretty good version of this live. No really!)
5) Timesteps - Wendy Carlos
6) Pony - Annette Peacock
7) Nasal Retentive Calliope Music - Frank Zappa
8) Ahknaten and Nerfertitti – Philip Glass
9) Hallogallo - Neu
10) Telstar - The Tornados
11) This Is the Monkey - Modified Toy Orchestra
12) Los Ninos del Parque - Lliaison Dangereuses (Debaser comment: Classic early 80's dance tune that pops up in sets by people like 2ManyDJs)
13) Electronic No 1 - Hawkwind
14) First Flight – Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith
15) Poppy Nogood and the Phantom Band - Terry Riley
16) Frank Herbert - Klaus Schulze
17) I Got a Line on You - Patrick Cowley
18) No1 Song in Heaven - Sparks
19) A Folk Study - Laurie Spiegel

There's some really good stuff in here. If you want to see Mr Morris' notes on these tracks go HERE. or HERE.
