But that show was the centrepiece on Christmas night on both BBC1 and over here on RTE1, I think I ended up watching part of a concert by Andre Rieu on Christmas night, there was nothing else on although earlier in the evening there was Other Voices which featured Richard Hawley, that was a highlight I guess...

Did see it is on iplayer, may try and catch it while it's still available then. Watched that Restless two parter thing about the spy in world war 2 . I don't know , it was alright but just didn't fully hit the mark for me somehow . Watched that film Moon, last night - that was pretty good .

(my mate tom played angus, the scottish fellow with the sticks!) there are a few good films still on iplayer, i think. i'm going to re-watch blade runner. also looking forward to catching up with the sound of music 'behind the scenes' thing, and the tove jansson doc. That Moon film I did see a while back and yeah it was a pretty good performance by Sam Rockwell, good that David Bowie's son turns out to be talented in his own right.. That Johnny Cash biopic is on later tonight but I doubt that I will get to see it..

Watched The Girl.Yeah i enjoyed that, really good. Hitchcock was portrayed as a right monster wsn't he, blimey. Yeah Moon's ending was all exremely neat wasn't it. What a bugger it'd be finding out you're a clone with implanted memories though. Charlie Brooker's 2012 wipe on NOW. Got a couple of his books for christmas - hilarious and brilliant.

i think hitchcock really was a bit of a rotten bastard. i find it fascinating that despite his obvious insight into sexual desire and dysfunction, he was so guilty of it himself. the plot of vertigo is very reminiscent of his relationship with tippi hedren. there are a couple of good books on this i want to read now. and it will be interesting to see the anthony hopkins/helen mirren/scarlett johansson take on this theme when that film comes out. (btw, speaking of SJ, if i was unimpressed with her before, that LUDICROUS perfume ad has really tipped her over into major irritant.) Edited by user 01 January 2013 16:53:47(UTC)
