Was great to meet some of the Brits, including Dec. Also spent a lot of time chatting with Joe (Who's Joe), who is a standup guy.

Light show was very active and spectacular. Looks like more of an effort has been put into placing specific visuals with songs, such as the gorgeous fake movie trailer with titles for Your Silent Face.

The crowd was really loud and up for it.

Some great shirt designs at the merch table. I got the North American Tour version, which is slate grey, and combines the US, Canadian, and Mexican flags into the pixel graphic X that's been used elsewhere. There's a Joy Division one based on the Substance LP that's really beautiful. Also Unknown Pleasures graphic and a New Order Now shirt, as well as key chains and a pack of 6 buttons/badges.

It was good, yes. The few songs transposed down a key so Barney can sing them more easily always seem to lack a bit of energy. TPK is still missing the third verse, but was not a medley with BM and had the full extended outro. BLT seems to be inching closer and closer to the album version on Brotherhood and not the '94 version.

I know of at least one taper.

Interesting choices. Nice to see KW1 and Atmosphere back. Not so sure about Close Range.

How on earth did Regret go missing? And True Faith got moved again.

Did they have videos for either Close Range or KW1? Assume Atmos got the 'FOREVER' video?

Wonder if they'll persist with these songs for the entire tour, or try out even more new material?

> I know of at least one taper.

Indeed recorded it, but I was up high on the balcony so mine's really ddddiiisssssttttaaaaannnnnntttttt. I'm sure somebody got a better pull.

I'll see what I can do with what I have and will post links to Close Range + KW1, and eventually the whole thing.

Jeb's setlist is spot-on.

Yes, that was Close Range...very interesting that NO last played this in 2001 for all BUT their US Area One tour dates. (Don't count Cologne since that was a festival gig opening for Robby Take That) I guess someone remembered and decided to remedy that. I have to admit I hadn't heard the song for so long that I forgot the name, only remembering it as "Dream On" (its working title) and had to look up a tracklist for Get Ready...

Post-gig track over the PA was the Scott McKenzie "San Francisco (Be Sure To Put Flowers In Your Hair" (Bernard did a brief a-capella of this back in 2005)

Great seeing Jeb+hubby, Dec+sis (later spotted him handing out flyers for FH2H and said hi), SB, Johnny Giles, Andy+SO, Steve W+wife, and any apologies for anyone I missed!

Cheers

Sam

Twas decent. Punter in front of me quipped "good song-then shite song-then another good song-then shite song"...with the "shite" ones being ones he didn't know, of course.

> How on earth did Regret go missing? And True Faith got moved again.

I guess to make room for Close Range?

Think TF's spot where it is works...but few people in the States recognized the Perfecto version. It's as if what people here know of NO was what they learned from the alternative rock station that used to play them loads until they were sold off...

> Did they have videos for either Close Range or KW1?

Snippets of random stuff...they pretty much was video running throughout. KW1's was neat since it listed group members names (distinctly recall seeing Tom Chapman)

> Assume Atmos got the 'FOREVER' video?

It did.

> Wonder if they'll persist with these songs for the entire tour, or try out even more new material?

I bet they'll just swap in/out Regret and Krafty in the same way they've been doing, but will be curious if Close Range stays for all the US dates...

He said she had about 10-15 copies in her car boot...the only copy of FH2H I ended up seeing was my 1st ed. :-)

Someone's put up a montage of a few tracks already. Quite nicely done too.

Atmosphere vid is the Corbijn offering. I was expecting a scrolling 'A T M O S P H E R E' instead. Frown Laugh

For those interested in the available merch, there was also a black tee that said New Order in white on the front with the tour dates on the back, a green one with modified Ceremony artwork (just the band name with the Veritas logo), and one with oversized Movement graphic on a light blue shirt - 6 different shirt designs total.

I kinda wish I'd gotten the Joy Division Substance-ish shirt now...based on the album cover, it says Forever on the top line and 1977 on the second line, both in the white serif typeface, then Joy Division on the third line, larger, in the green typeface.

Still only 16 songs. I bet Close Range sounds good. Too bad they never mike Gillian up for backing vocals. After listening to The Happy One's recording it seemed as if Tom made the tune sound more new Orderish.

So the fake movie trailer for KW1...it used a lot of beautiful high-def, slow motion footage from around Los Angeles - a plane taking off, a construction site, a helicopter circling around the skyscrapers, the beach, a full moon - it had this late '60s/early '70s vibe, almost like a Bond film. You got the distinct impression of a story. It had director credits, the name YSF like a proper film title, "From the album Power Corruption and Lies" and all 5 band member names as though they were starring in it. It was really special combined with the song, as though you were experiencing a well-known film soundtrack for a classic movie that doesn't actually exist. Definitely a lot of work went into it, and it was one of the highlights of the show for me.

It nearly brought me to tears, and I wasn't even rolling. Wink

As soon as Barney stepped up to the mic with the melodica the crowd started roaring. It felt like they were really trying to give us a special moment.

Like Sam, I'd forgotten the song title, even though I think it's one of the better songs on Get Ready. It did sound great, and I really appreciated that they were trying to mix the set list up a bit.

Would still have loved to hear Thieves Like Us or Round & Round, though.

Atmosphere and kw1 obviously are amazing songs, but they played them a lot during the 05-06 tour, so i’d really wish to listen to another songs and i think they did the right thing including Close Range, i mean… is not a song must be played every single gig, but they tried to do something different and I’m glad for that :)

My favorite song on Get Ready is Close Range, so I'm very happy it made it in the line up. I hope it lasts until Toronto. I like how more JD songs means taking Transmission out and adding Atmosphere. I new they would play Atmosphere, they play it everytime they goto the west. I hope it's gone by Toronto. I don't mind no Regret, They play it everytime I see them anyways. Over all I'm still looking forward to Toronto.

I gotta say, I really love this concept. The color blocks change depending on which flags are used, so it becomes unique to distinct parts of the world.

Plus, in using a template it's both clever and lazy at the same time - pure Saville. Wink

A band from LA named Run Run Run who cribbed Oasis' look and Jesus And Mary Chain's sound. They weren't bad.
