Hey everybody, Hi

Like I said, I will be closing those forums soon because I've been bleeding money for 20+ years now maintaining this at a cost of 100$ per month, and it's finally time to move on.

However, since there are always alternative, I have no idea why I have not tried this before, but we could try to preserve the community is to migrate it to reddit.

I have created a community on Reddit at https://www.reddit.com/r/NewOrderOnline/

You can join, I'll be able to assign moderators and administrators among the vets.

Maybe it's too late, but it's worth a shot.. I'm also considering migrating the website to WenOrder's hosting servers so we can keep the website up, but the forums it's not going to be possible to keep them as is sadly, and from the many online possibilities I think reddit is probably the wisest, maybe not, we'll see...

So the forums stay up at the moment, but eventually the url will redirect over there, so please PLEASE move your activity over there if you can.

With a bit of lateral thinking and the right prompt it should be possible to get the best of the forum threads extracted with an LLM such as gemini, co-pilot etc(I use them at work for similar on long chats on teams).
I've just started having a play and it looks promising.

I have a flat html backup of the forum which I can host when this is gone. Obviously none of the login/reply functionality will work, but all the threads and text will be there for reference

I'll take one too to continue my experiments. I think spotniks hosting company are sometimes blocking the ai agents.

Comments are under posts.

I'll look into it, technically it's also limited to the first 3 days to avoid spam, but since we don't have spam yet I'll remove the automod.

You need to join the community to post I think.. to comment you only need to join the website.

I've joined the community on Reddit and posted a comment. Er, i think. I did it on my phone and seemed to have to install the Reddit app to do it. When i created a username i was able to post without setting up a password. I really have no idea how Reddit works.I don't need a log in password? Or is it because i selected 'Continue with Google' ?
