I'm pretty sure 'Selfish' is Series 2 track 26, albeit in an early version.
Seem to think it makes an appearance in Series 3 too.

Season 2 definitely seems a bit less focussed, some of the incidental stings could almost just be someone fiddling about with a preset for 30 seconds, but still some good stuff in there Big Grin

Track 38 I think is very likely called 'The Company Song' as it appears just after they unveil the Japanese-style Company Song. The lyrics on the white board aren't the same as those on the track though
Lyrics are a little unclear at the end there

Our pain and our pleasure
We dedicate to you.
Your products inspire us
Our loyalties require us
to sing your praise and due
Oh company we pledge to be (unclear)
For the year to be (?)


I'll agree on S2 26, 29 & 37 being proto versions of Selfish - thanks for spotting

Great spot - I was kind of looking out for MTO as it would have been written around the same time and obvious "soundtrack material".

Weird they only used that one brief snippet

I'm a tech luddite so when you say you extracted the raw files i'm taking a guess you could do it all without having to sit through each and every episode of all 3 series and capture each piece of music? Well i guess you didn't sit through and watch the lot as you did it so quickly? Not sure how you did it but much appreciated anyway!

Yep - using this utility https://github.com/get-iplayer/get_iplayer
there is an option to download just the audio track. From there just pretty much chopped out all the dialogue and picked out the musical sections

Yeah - me too.

I remember someone saying that they had a demo with the original lyrics on an old hard-drive that crashed and couldn't be recovered (or similar).
So, it's likely that some other fans do have a copy.

If anyone has this, please consider sharing.
