Sad news. it actually made the 10pm tv news last night on the BBC, and I heard it on BBC 6 Music's radio news throughout the day.
I didn't even know he was unwell.
They mentioned that when The Smiths split up, Rourke was just 23. I don't think I realised at the time how young they were.
I know JD were young when Ian died too. But JD didn't have four studio albums and a string of (uk) hit singles to their name.
Nothing on Hooky's twittter about it. They were in Freebass together, but I think Rourke was the first to leave...
