Hello everybody, if you remember I have posted a few times I was thinking about closing the website since I'm basically paying the hosting by myself without any ad revenue over the last decade, but somebody brought to my attention I could set up a Patreon account to help with the hosting fees to keep the site alive. Now I'm a noob in Patreon, but it's live at https://www.patreon.com/neworderonlineBasically you can "subscribe" and give whatever you want, I think you can do a one time donation or subscribe per month and send 1$ or more every month to help covering the 90$ CDN it costs me. I'm not asking for charity, but for those who want to help, you have your way now. Returning to hibernation, I doubt this thing will get popular enough that we could move to a better platform, but who knows!

I’ve signed up and set up a couple quid a month. I don’t post here so much these days but that could change when there’s more NO stuff happening like box sets or whatever. I’d much sooner visit this forum than any of those Facebook groups.

Ive done the same as Fotz £2 per month.
You should get paid by all these companies flogging new order joy division memorabilia with the free advertising they are getting! It would be nice if new order band members past and present make the odd donation it sites like this that keeps the obsession flowing which in turn keeps the band and legacy important

I've chipped in. Good idea!
WRT "server updates", IMHO the figure you're paying for hosting seems way too high. So for me, the main rason to think about "server updates" is not to add any bells and whistles to the forum, but to make the existing forum more sustainable.

I would like to make a one off contribution, rather than a monthly standing order but Patreon doesn't allow this (for me, here in the UK.)
Have you thought of using Kofi? They don't take any commission and several other creators I value use this. It's then easy for us to throw donations to you as & when we can.
Thanks and very best

Rorschach I used paypay directly for that back in the days, I believe the link is in NewOrderOnline's footer actually. It used to pay for itself with google ads money until the band split back in the days, and I just keep the boat floating since because I had zero courage to pull the plug ;)
