https://www.nme.com/features/20-...es-white-stripes-2857736New Order, ‘Crystal’ "New Order might be more readily associated with synths than guitars, but ‘Crystal’ saw them make good – and heavy – use of six strings. Over nearly seven minutes, they lay out a crunching, distorted blueprint for how to do dance-rock and do it phenomenally. Why it still slaps: That rush of a chorus hasn’t lost any of its fizz, sounding as effervescent and vital now as it ever did." |

It's great to see the recognition but if I ever hear someone say out loud that a particular song "slaps" I'll end them and make it look like an accident.

“Slap” ? Strange choice of word. I get what they’re trying to say but still..... a crap word to use.

Never heard it called that before. Crystal's one of the best from the period, despite the occasionally iffy lyrics. You CAN buy honey with money. Is it just me, or does Winnie the Pooh sound like a polite term for anal?
