A user has added subs to Discogs for the new reissued 12"s of Blue Monday and Confusion Seems genuine as they have uploaded cover scans, but I see no evidence of them being for sale yet? They have listed the release date as Feb 2020 https://www.discogs.com/...-Monday/release/14822524https://www.discogs.com/...nfusion/release/14822636Both are replica sleeves (BM with cut outs and Confusion with embossing) Blue Monday has a QR code (links to neworder.com) on the back colour strip?! :format(jpeg):mode_rgb():quality(90)/discogs-images/R-14822524-1582285320-8722.jpeg.jpg) Confusion has a barcode on the back :format(jpeg):mode_rgb():quality(90)/discogs-images/R-14822636-1582286140-6339.jpeg.jpg) User claims that they are both p&c 2019 - which would make sense if the PCL project was delayed from October. Interesting...both have 1 copy for sale, from different sellers. But both sellers are in Hungary...

Nice catch.
A sign of further releases on their way, perhaps.

Messaged the guy on Discogs and he says that he got them from the local Warners distributor in Hungary, and is pretty confused as to why they made it to the distributor there but no other territory

Seems crazy to think these slipped out
I’m hoping that the silver inners are intact when they get an official release.

A furher update from Peter in Hungary via discogs - his English isn't 100% clear, but better than my Hungarian... Quote:it seems that warner hungary or their local distributor as there is not such entity actually as warner hungary anyways they have made similar mistakes in the past, notably with the smiths single queen is dead about 3 years ago... https://www.discogs.com/...n-Is-Dead/master/1150763the same things happened here these 2 singles have been in their schedule for months now with a release date of 21st february and most probably they have not updated their lists or have overlooked that since then these singles have disappeared from schedules and have been postponed, delayed, put aside, whatever....who knows... anyways, the date came so they had stock it seems and since i ordered some copies of these singles some months ago, they sent me the copies i ordered without checking whether these singles are actually released or not... i hope you follow :)) the records have been pressed in optimal and have been pressed in 2019 so it would be great to know actually what and why happened to their scheduled release.... So it sounds like they got as far as pressing these two for release in October - then delayed to Feb. Probably all the Warners distributors are sitting on boxes awaiting a new date - but the Hungarian operation didn't get the memo...

I never knew some copies of Blue Monday even had a silver inner until some years back , maybe mid 2000s when I must have seen it mentioned on here. The Blue Monday 12” I bought in 1983 has a black inner and that’s what I for years assumed was the only colour the BM inner sleeves ever had. Was quite surprised to learn a couple of decades later of the silver inner versions. Edited by user 10 March 2020 03:17:06(UTC)

I've no idea, it does sound like they used both at the start. I mentioned the silver when we illustrated the sleeve inside the Singles vinyl box and revamped CD, the response was that Peter prefers the black.

Silver ink is expensive, and the inner sleeves printed silver front and back would cost more to manufacture. The legend about losing 5 pence on every copy sold probably refers to the first batch printed with silver ink. I agree that the black inner sleeve makes it look more like a traditional floppy disc, but I miss the contrast of the silver.

The silver inner will certainly work better as cover art for any digital Blue Monday release (assuming it comes out digitally as the Movement reissue 12"s did). With black on black in a digital image you'd never know it was a floppy disc - the silver highlights it well for that.

When I got the 12" in 1983 (as an import to the U.S.), it had a silver inner sleeve.
