Johnny, I am sure you have looked on the Net, there does appear to be a lot of sites offering cheap sound proofing solutions. It may be worth visiting some of thase site, if you have not already. Also there is something called flexible portioning which may be of use. Edited by user 17 January 2019 07:57:00(UTC)

Thanks Mike. Yes I’ve looked at cheaper options but have doubts that they’ll work.
In boiler news, I’ve gone for a Vaillant combi, having it installed on Monday.

If we are winning we sing to the opposition 'our fucking boiler he'd get in your team' classy! Edited by user 22 January 2019 06:38:21(UTC)

Try old blankets tacked up with new drywall sheets over it. A few gaps are fine. Decoupling the layers is the way to go.

S'alright, i just bought myself some noise cancelling headphones a few months back. The Sony WH-1000Xm3 phones.Incredible ability at filtering out unwanted noise. The neighbours had a party the other weekend and the music could be heard half way down the street (i took a walk and checked, out of interest!) yet in my house, with the noise cancelling headphones on the noise was 90% if not completely neutered.Mindboggling technology. The headphones were £250 but possibly one of the best investments i've ever undertaken.£250 is peanuts compared to spending thousands on soundproofing the walls.
