If this is the correct Manchester setlist:
Elegia, Crystal, Regret, Ceremony, Age Of Consent, Love Vigilantes,
Here To Stay, Waiting for the Sirens' Call, Bizarre Love Triangle,
True Faith, 586, The Perfect Kiss, Blue Monday, Temptation
(encore) Transmission, Love Will Tear Us Apart

then the only differences in Birmingham were:
Round & Round in place of Here To Stay
Krafty in place of Waiting for the Sirens' Call
and no Transmission

Really enjoyable show.
Bernard seemed to be struggling with his vocal duties.

Just got back in from this, great show and crowd - I think Bernard was thrown early on when the white telecaster appeared.

I made it something like:
Elegia
Crystal
Regret
Ceremony
Age of Consent
Love Vigilantes
Round and Round
Krafty
586
True Faith
Perfect Kiss
Blue Monday
Bizarre Love Triangle
Temptation
Encore:
Love Will Tear Us Apart

Very similar to the Troxy. In fact I thought it was going to be the same until they played Round and Round.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. I haven't seen the venue rammed like that for ages.( Lots of fond memories of that place so nice to see it reopened.)

Thought it was a good crowd and they sounded great to me. I was down the front for the first bit.

best blue monday ever
in that phil's drum pads fell off the stand during the perfect kiss & were on the floor so he was playing then with his feet, then he had a roadie holding them & then some one else who kept taking them away when he tried to hit them

barney looked as bored as we are of it when leaning on a pillar at the side of the stage in the musical interludes

place was rammed & i lost about 4 lbs during the set from sweating so much!

the printed set list only had one song down for the encore, would have thought we'd get 2 songs as they were well received & the crowd wanted more - truncated cos it was a sunday?

Great to meet some new and old faces beforehand together with a couple of mates I haven't seen for a good 20 years.

Managed to last at the front for the duration but this 41 year old is getting too old for this Big Grin

Glad the set had a couple of changes to Mancland and the 1 song encore might have been due to the Sunday night curfew. The band sounded good at the front but I was disappointed at the lack of banter from Bernard - maybe he's feeling his age these days. Thought the crowd were pretty good and better than the Wolves one in 2006. Some of my mates thought the set was a bit too dancey? but then again they are from the Lowlife generation.

As I'm working in the smoke I might head over to Brixton on Thursday so hopefully there will be a few spares floating around.

Hadn't thought of that - I assumed it was because Barney had said he wasn't feeling great... Having been disappointed with the Troxy gig, I wasn't expecting much, but was really pleasantly surprised... AOC, Ceremony, Temptation were expected highlights, but it was a lot of the stuff I didn't have high hopes for that made it...
Love Vig (hasn't worked in well in recent years) reminded me why I love it, and Krafty was also surprisingly enjoyable... BM had a nice slightly chaotic feel to it... Good to hear Round & Round too... Still not impressed by Toothache and would have preferred them to have doen Transmish rather than LWTUA as the encore, but all in all a great night...

Had a brilliant night at Birmingham last night, right at the front, felt like I'd been to a rave from past glories by the time the gig finished, must have lost a stone. Met Dec outside and had a chat with him about his marvellous book and the fact Im famous at last as he has used my comment on his flyer. Realy good atmosphere last night from start to finish. Shame Factory Floor couldn;t have supported this gig (sorry Jake but their music would have suited the night more) as well.

Its true Barney was really struggling whith his vocals and he apologised at the start so he's obviously having a few problems with his voice (too many gigs for the older gentleman). Did not matter down at the front as every track was sung by the crowd anyway. So although New Order have sounded a lot better at other gigs I've seen over the years sometimes the atmosphere of the gig is all you need. I was pretty well gone which added to the entertainment.

Only negative was at the end as I'd pre paid my parking ticket but it did not work on the way out (anyody else have that problem?) The woman would not open the barrier and told us to reverse the car with about a 1000 cars behind us, eventually had to pay another £4 on a pre paid ticket. So apologies to any body queing behind us.

Hopefully NewOrder will play later in the year and a few changes to the set list would be nice. Shame they didn't play Here to Stay as I love that tune and I dont think I've ever heard it live (did they play this on 2001 tour saw a couple of gig that year but I dont remember them playing Here to Stay)

Yeah, happened to me too. Embarrassing after I'd been talking to a bloke in the queue behind me and he was tutting that people didn't know how to use the machines, then I had to fumble for a tenner...

If Crystal, Regret,BM,BLT,TF,etc HAVE to be on the setlist, couldn't they at least change the order. Open with Blue Monday, close with Regret, or something like that. It would be kind of new, at least.

Agree - the set is too skewed with all the guitar-focsued songs at the beginning and dancy ones later on... That may be their intention, but I certainly felt on Sunday the intiial burst of energy from the crowd for Crystal, Regret, Ceremony, AOC and even Love Vig dissipated for the dance-heavy tracks... Enjoyed BLT though...
