As Law Vegas has attracted neworder again- they played in the pool (drained) a couple of years ago, when the Coachella (horrible way to see/hear a band)and santa Barbara(ultimate/best possible venue ), shows were also played. Is it the killer's and brandon they come for?, or the shows ( maybe cirque du soleil is interested in adding a new order show llike Beatles love , which would be great,( there are currently 6 or 7 cirque shows at different hotels) or are bernard and co. thinking of their future playing dozens of soldout shows like rod stewart and elton john have been doing without having to travel. In any event ,the theaters are huge, they have state of the art sound ,and the group can have royal treatment / and r and r , and so can the visitors. I predict a 19 or 20 song set ,transmission replacing or adding to LWTUA at encore

Obviously Las Vegas is an international vacation destination. Bands play Las Vegas despite its smaller population because it's a good way to reach fans from all over the world who are vacationing in Las Vegas.

And if the show doesn't sell out, the hosting casino will stuff the venue with comp tickets. ;)

Don't be surprised to see Brandon on stage doing a one-off Superheated at the show.

Hi sampled frog, I drive in from page,az, trying to see red rock canyon, book kayak trip in the pm to emerald cove @ black canyon, and see imperial palace auto museum, and Beatles cirque love at mirage,at 7 pm, and new order at 9:30, I will be old ,in white shirt, tan shorts, jogging shoes, at Cosmo / chelsea theater bar by 9:15, i hope , though it is a long ' walk past caesars and bellagio, so try to get the band to wait a few minutes more( they will probably all be at the bar, and tom and phil can say they lost their plectrums)and play to past 2 am,

The final encore was the live premiere of Superheated featuring Brandon Flowers. Brandon came out earlier to sing with Bernard on Crystal (oh, the irony!) and Love Vigilantes. Superheated was the final song of the night so they skipped Atmosphere and started the encore with LWTUA.

They sounded excellent in this rather small venue and the crowd was quite enthusiastic. I haven't seen them live since '89 and Bernard really seemed to enjoy putting on show now instead of being pissed off like he was back in the day. From my spot on the floor in front of Gillian, I caught only the faintest of sight of Stephen. He didn't seem to be on a high drum riser and was very hard to see from the floor. Shame, he's so entertaining to watch behind the drums.

My favorite part of the show was when DJ Whitney Fierce came out on stage to dance around during Blue Monday. Bernard humored her for a few moments and then literally shoved her off stage. And when I say 'literally", I mean he pushed her behind the curtain rather forcefully. I just love it when Bernie is a dick!

Sorry I didn't see your post before the show. As you probably noticed, we weren't the only old guys there, lol.

That I can get behind. I just don't think Atmosphere should be sung by anyone but Ian.

I don't know why but I had always assumed that Brandon Flowers sang the whole song on the album, but the live footage only has him singing the high backing vocal on the chorus. Weird - is Barney is subconciously singing in a Brandon Flowers accent on the album?

On the album, Barney sings all the verses, then both sing the chorus and ending together. It's sort of hard to hear Barney's voice when they're both singing together, but the Extended Mix pushes up Barney's vocals quite a bit so you can hear him much clearer. I've thought about doing an edit of the two so the album version contains the Extended Mix's chorus lines, but unfortunately don't have a lossless FLAC copy of the Extended album yet.

I paid the price for thinking that seeing a previously great Beatles cirque de soleil show at 7 , and then new order would be smart . I missed the Wagner intro to singularity -( see Herzog's'Nosferatu, with Bruno Gans for a different use of Das Reingold).
The show was perfect, though Outdoors they shine like the stars they are.the bond with Brandon brought fewer young enthusiasts, but the teens with family nearby were seemingly exuberantly near drooling and whooping as bernard did so long ago.
Beatles sounded great, but I will never pollute New Order's day again, unless Cirque comes up with a new order/ joy division show of sublime excellence , of which the beatles was not particularly fascinating in its" newest iteration
