This is surely the Erol Extended rework. I hope the Stripped mix will differs more from the original.

No need to even surmise. It is the extended rework. Click the bit that says "25 tracks" for the full tracklisting (though sometimes nothing happens, weirdly).
Incidentally that Boiler Room site wouldn't let me log in with Facebook on either Firefox or Chrome, but it worked on Explorer.

BTW you can also listen to the show on SOUNDCLOUD.
(Mods, when can we embed Soundclouds?)

The edit for the video ( same as radio/ single edit?) is ok as New Order single edits go, we've all heard worse NO single edits. The track has retained its spirit well in that edit IMHO.

Hoping i'll enjoy more of the Singularity mixes than i did the Tutti Frutti ones.Only remix of the Tutti Frutti lot i really liked and played a lot was the Hot Chip one.I enjoyed the Restless remixes much more - i listened to the Agoria mix, RAC mix and the xxxy Build Up mix a lot.Bit strange, you'd think the Tutti Frutti mixes would have been better than the Restless ones as Tutti was a dance/electronica track more open to remixes in the first place than Restless which didn't really have remix potential at first impression. But mixes like the Agoria one and the RAC one were by far better than some of the Tutti Frutti mixes IMHO. So yeah, anyway here's hoping for some interesting Singularity remixesSmile

Weird. If you click the youtube logo on the above embedded video, it still opens up as normal with 85,592 views and comments going back four days. But they have now classified it as unlisted ("only those with the link can see it").
The re-upped version HERE currently has 984 views, but I can't see anything different about it. Has it really been edited?

It seems like he made this and threw in an homage to Blue Monday. It sounds like it would mix very well with it in a set.

NO/Mute have sent out an email now, which you can read HERE
This sentence caught my eye:
Quote:
the artwork was put together by our friend Peter Saville, if you buy the 12", you'll get an insight into where he got the idea from.

I'm not sure what that means at the mo.

Can anyone confirm what colour the 12" vinyl is. Mute have it as purple, but other online stores (Juno, Piccadiilly Records etc.) show it as yellow.

Purple seems more likely given the artwork, and given that Tutti Fruitti was yellow

Thanks

The official line is purple. Piccadilly Records seem to have copy and pasted that bit as it says exactly the same thing for Tutti Frutti. I just ignored that and placed my order. And as you say, I can't see them releasing it in exactly the same colour as the last release. Purple for sure.

Well Mute Bank and the New Order store clearly state purple vinyl. Surely if anyone knows, it's them.
I would hazard a guess that Mute have re-used their blurb for Tutti Frutti and forgotten to change the bit about the colour when they sent info out to record stores. So then places such as Norman Records quote the blurb and confuse the punters.

Incidentally I linked to Norman Records as we may have a new "cheapest option" for buying the single:
12" £7.99 +CD £5.49 + shipping £3 = £16.48

Amazon is currently one of the most expensive options at £24.87. Tsk.

I just looked on Amazon after reading your post and wow! How can they justify £16.83 for the vinyl? That's more than twice the normal price. Crazy. Doubt they will have many orders.

Not too bad but not really close to the existing mixes.

I still think that the extended album (with a couple of exceptions, Tutti Frutti, Academic) is the definitive work on MC.

By and large, the remixes haven't been as good as the 'originals' or the extended originals, though I did like Restless RAC & Weatherall and Tutti Frutti Hot Chip remixes.

Not stopped me forking out for the single again...

I quite like the Erol Alkan mix. It's kind of sparse, built around that repeating keyboard riff - will certainly play it a fair bit .

Has there been any confirmation of a US pressing?

Amazon lists two versions of both the CD single and 12".

I'd suspect the tracklistings and artwork will be the same even if there are dual releases.

I've heard all the remixes now and don't know that we've got any classics here.
