Afternoon, all!

In my endless quest to acquire the complete Factory back catalogue in digital format (currently standing at 63% if you don't count the classical stuff which is IMPOSSIBLE to find) I find to my horror that one NO item I don't have is the above. Can anyone point me in the direction of somewhere I might be able to lay my hands on it?

But don't get me started on Meatmouth and Kalima, please! Smile

Cheers & thanks in advance

Pere

Hi

Is it definitely an exclusive DJ only remix?
Was just thinking maybe you saw an ambiguosly worded DJ only promo copy of the standard '88 remix?
One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad.

If it was something else masquerading under a different title, then that's fine - I'd just need to know what it really is. However, my records show it has a run time of 08:17 which differentiates it from the standard 12" versions.

Ah - apologies - a footnote in the NO discography website shows it as being the Dub version. That'll teach me to check my reference material first!

Don't know if this helps http://www.discogs.com/New-Orde...day-1988/release/1280703
It states: "The DJ Only Mix is the same as the Dub Version. Several fan sites list this release as FAC 73 RD."
But it shows run time as 7.14.

Looks like our posts crossed (see my edited response above) - it is indeed the Dub version.

Thanks for replying - now to get back to Meatmouth and Kalima!

In 95 I bought a rare NO CD 'The Remix' and there was this mad DJ BM mix I'd never heard before but clearly based on the 88 12". The only reference I can find on the Net is at http://www.worldinmotion...ping/manuel_caviglia.htm under 'New Order CD Rarities'.

Always thought the 88 version in all it's forms was uttershite; the samples go waaaay over the top and ruin the tune.

The only two BM remixes I have time for is the Hardfloor Vocal and the DMC Mix from "Substance Abuse".

Agreed the Harfloor mix is very good. It's easily the best remix, official or unoffiical of BM that I know of.
But the DMC mix? Ugh. It's meant to be for DJ's but if this mix (aka the Paul Dakeyne Mix or Megamix) came on while I was on the dancefloor, I'd have to be seriously drunk not to cringe with embarrassment. James Bond samples? The Cutting Crew in there too? Yikes! Not for me thanks. It's more like a showcase or show-off mix: "look what I can do, (in the 80's)", rather than "listen to how awesome this tune is in remixed form".
Of the unofficial remixes, the 3rd Avenue one is much less likely to drive me off the dancefloor (ignore the DJ Thug name - just a youtube uploader)

People kind of accept BM 88 as part of the band's history (eg it's on Singles as well as the original, some of the 90s mixes and Maurder ain't). But it's shite innit, submerging the guts of the original in a bunch of hackneyed dancefloor DJs. Nice sleeve though.

Hi - came across this discussion by chance, as I am desperately looking for the
Blue Monday 95 - Hardfloor Radio Edit - in digital format of course, although I believe there is also a 7" disc.

http://www.discogs.com/N...Monday-95/release/882327

Can anyone help?

...I think I'll go there when it gets seasonable...

Well if you're prepared to pay £24.99 for it, the cd is there on the discogs link. That counts as digital doesnt it? Bargain!
