Yes, we did hear it, we just came back from the concert in Santiago. It's more electronic-based than the stuff from "Lost Sirens" and the song has a kind of heavy beat. It's hard to judge a song based on a live version, but everybody liked it.

Just to be pedantic, the correct title is "Drop The Guitar" and it's a working title.

The new song sounds great. The drums is on the top - it was an excelent performance from Steve. But the bass lines also sounded pretty good. Not exactly in the same mood as Hooky, but still pulsating.

The true is: really sounds like New Order.

Here it is - not great sound on video but the song appears to have a real driving beat to it and a good melody

I agree there is a familiar element to the bass line. This made my day and I quite like it. The drums on it are great. Eek

I was thinking the bassline came from Shadowplay. I like the track! Cannae wait to hear it in the States in July and better yet the studio recording. Light show looked fantastic again!

The working title "Drop The Guitar" was confirmed both by Dian Barton (New Order's live sound engineer) and Andy Liddle (New Order's lighting guy). Andy gave me this setlist. "You can take it, it's all wrong anyway", he said. You can see the title of the new song in its abbreviated form.

So did they drop the likes of Elegia and Isolation, or did denial_1963 just get the setlist slightly wrong?

It's New Order by numbers, innit, even with the new song.

No its New Order that a festival crowd expect to hear - hits, not obscure songs that the majority will not have heard of.

denial_1963 setlist is right, Andy got a wrong setlist. That was a bit of an exaggeration when he stated that it was "all wrong".

Nope, that's roughly the same setlist you'd get at a festival or their own gig - same songs in the same order they've been doing for the past 30 months.

Any idea why they cut some? Not given a long enough slot?

Where were they on the bill, out of interest?

They were the last act on the side stage and got a slot of one hour and fifteen minutes. Soundgarden were the headliner and got a slot of two hours. Andy's setlist is kind of weird, with a full set of New Order songs, apart from "Isolation". 75 minutes and no "Love Will Tear Us Apart"?

Back to the new track.....can only agree with the sentiments above that this is a strong return. Love the propulsive rhythm. Makes me wonder if this is one of the tracks that Tom Chemical has collaborated on as the mix is a little reminiscent of Hear to Stay in places.

When was the last time they played an unreleased track live?...The Area One tour with Billy Corgan just before Get Ready came out?

The addition of an excellent, new, unreleased track to the setlist is exciting to me. But I don't understand the reluctance to at least shuffle (let alone replace) any other songs in the set. I can only assume the band feel that it's too much effort for too little return (making jaded internet forum posters happy).

Sincerely, I didn't hear any resemblance with "Shadowplay" or even "Novelty" on bass. Yeah, they kept the melodic bass lines as usual, what I think is a positive thing, but the bass guitar don't reminds me any previous song at all.

First 20 secs it is Novelty on bass, not even sounds like.
Decent track, usual Barney mumbling/bullshit lyrics, new song. Sound in the air still.

Leaves me quietly hopeful, and at the moment, I'll grab that.

If setlist.fm is to be believed (I suspect a couple of the tracks might be in the wrong order?) then it looks like this is pretty much what they played in Argentina last night as well.

With the JD encore added, natch.
