Hello there, long time lurker and first time poster.

This evening I have been going through my vinyl collection and found a 3 disk 7" inch set of the "Waiting For The Sirens Call" singles. I remember buying them, however they are placed in a nice gatefold binder held together with two pieces of stretchy string in the corners. I have no recollection of buying it, and after some admittedly scant research have managed to find sod all about it. Can anyone shed any light on whether they all came with this or where it is from?

Thank you in advance.

I have the binder and x3 7" singles. A nice little package with nice artwork. I seem to remember the binder itself was a free limited edition, available around September 2005 only through online order but no memory of where you had to order it from. I recall obtaining the binder before i had any of the 7" singles. Think you could only buy the 7" singles online at the time back then though may be wrong. I got the singles one by one trickled over a few weeks.

Ah,thank you Bill. I have no recollection of ordering it. It is a very nice little package all told, did they do any others for any of the single releases around the time?

That said I think it is a nice little curio to have in my collection, it is no Blue Monday obviously but little else reaches that level.

Wasn't it a link to London/Warners from the front page of...this website?

and I didn't get one as I wasn't a regular visitor to the site in '05, and by the time I saw the banner on NOOL I had already missed the cut off date or something. So if anyone has a spare one, that'd be nice! Nudge Nudge.

I have two binders... One in perfect conditions and another with a slight risk on the front that I made accidentally, but looks nicely.

Makes me sigh a bit when i look at the photo of the girl in the river on the sleeves of the 7" singles that they didn't use that image for the cover of the Waiting For The Sirens' Call album as originally planned. They decided it was too close to the bone to use for the album so soon after the 2004 Tsunami in the Indian Ocean ?

...mmm supposedly. But Hooky said in an interview more recently that he didn't like the original proposed artwork that Bernard wanted and the "No" was a compromise (and I'm thinking, possibly a piss-take reaction from Saville).

I've also heard that's the real version of the album cover story. The girl's photo was made originally by Eliot Elisofon for Life magazine in 1955.

See the original pic and the another ones from the same series here (text in portuguese).

If Monkhouse see's that site, he'll be reduced to typing with one hand for at least a week.

Mmm, if I recall right, ordered from local HMV the 3 vinyl's and the slip case from the online order.

Shame though the slip case doesn't house the vinyl.

Thanks for the link.
slow down.

Not sure if you joking but if not the 3 singles have to be inserted with their spines to the outer edge of the binder ( ie with Catologue numbers visible) They should fit in perfectly that way.

LOL,feeling pretty stupid. I had also assumed they didn't fit, unless you took the outer jackets off. Flipping them around works a treat Nod
