http://news.radio.com/20...use-u-s-benefit-line-up/

Iggy Pop, New Order and Joe Walsh are looking to bring you a little inner peace and hopefully encourage you to donate a lot of cash when they hit the stage at this year’s Tibet House U.S. Benefit.
The three artists are set to play the 24th annual Tibet House U.S. Benefit Concert at Carnegie Hall on March 11, according to Rolling Stone.
The night will also include performances from Patti Smith and her band, The National’s guitarist Bryce Dessner, Tibetan singer-songwriter Techung and composers Nico Muhly and Philip Glass. Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Saarsgard are the show’s Honorary Chairpersons.
Tickets for the event, which range from $35 to $200, are on sale now. Proceeds from the benefit go to the Tibet House U.S., a nonprofit education institution that is dedicated to preserving Tibetan culture.

This is exciting! What a great line up, New Order, Iggy, Patti Smith, and Phillip Glass, and for a good cause too?

I will have to try to get a ticket before it sells out.

Wonder NO will be doing any other East Coast gigs or are just flying over for this one?

Good times to be had at any rate.

If what the New Order Facebook page says is true (only Bernard, Tom and Phil will be present), then there'll be unlikely a New Order performance as we know it. They'll probably sing along to some Tibetan anthem.

Got my tickets today. Will be interested to see What Bernard, Phil, and Jake end up doing. Maybe the will run a drum machine and Phil will do guitar/synth, Bernard will sing and do synths, and Tom will play bass and they will do a few stripped down versions of NO tunes, Minimal Synth/Cold Wave style. That would be really cool.

Plus, I get to see my childhood heroes Iggy Pop and Patti Smith play, for the first time (my first time seeing them), in Carnegie Hall of all places.

I've seen Philip Glass play a number of times and always enjoy his performances. This will be a really nice (and quite affordable) night out.

I just might wear my dinner jacket, it being Carnegie Hall and all.

Zachary,

Saw Iggy in 97 or 98. A lot of energy and so much fun. Show as in upstate NY and so poorly attended (outdoors and rain), he let everyone on stage at the end for Lust for Life. It was so much fun. Wish I was able to make it up to NYC for this but alas I will be on business travel for work and in lovely Dallas that week. Shame. From the collected artists on the bill, this looks like it will be an interesting night. So many different types of artists. Enjoy!

All the best!
