Went through a phase of buying cassettes when i was younger it coincided with my JAMC phase so i have this Darklands and Barbed Wire Kisses on tape in a box somewhere |

Rhino's Record Store Day Factory 10"
Posted: 04 Mar 2013 11:02 AM PST Slicing Up Eyeballs reports (via Wax Poetic) that Rhino Records plans a 10" vinyl Factory Records sample for Record Store Day 2013. The 4-track E.P. looks set to feature Joy Division, New Order, Happy Mondays and The Durutti Column.

RSD - while a noble and well-intentioned idea - is absolutely shit and unworkable in reality.
They manufacture so few of these items that they inevitably end up in the hands of tout-like wankers who sell them on to genuine fans for 400% of the original cost. It's horrible seeing how many of these "cherished, limited edition etc" items end up being flogged to the highest bidder on Ebay the day after.
Terrible, terrible idea... I gave up on it years ago around the time of that 10" sampler they did for the Rhino Factory boxset.

I gave up on it years ago around the time of that 10" sampler they did for the Rhino Factory boxset. ah, this is what you get for living in the big smoke, ally. up here everyone plays nicely and shares their toys - i've always managed to find the special vinylly treats i wanted for RSD. in general, i do agree, though, sadly. the only shop left for buying rekkids in this town is scope, from whence i have some lovely elvis costello and blondie 7"s, and the best of the nolan sisters.
