That woman in The XX produces a guitar sound that i possibly haven't liked so much since Terry Bickers' stuff for House Of Love

Anyone ahem, young enough to remember Molly Ringwald in The Breakfast Club? Now she's singing the theme tune.

I've only heard this album version on the radio once, Absolute '80's a few years ago. A pity. |

Remember spotting an unscratched copy of Blancmange's 1984 cover version 12" single thirteen years-or-so ago, and didn't buy it for £ 3. A mistake... |

Classy, but I prefer the Sister Feelings Call instrumental better. Much the better of the two albums altogether:

Someone stop him! No, actually I think this is superb, I would love to see him live this year but I don't think Cork is in his tour plans..

Well you can buy the 7" for 50p and the 12" for 99p + postage here. Discogs is great for filling your collection with stuff you have somehow managed to live without...

i LOVE the breakfast club, and i LOVED molly ringwald. (off to see pretty in pink at the nearest arty farty picturehouse on tuesday night!) her version of that made me stuff my fist in my gob for the first few seconds, but actually it's not all that bad. i am full to the brim of the joys of spring today. which calls for a blast of sunburst and snowblind.
p.s. i can hardly come on this thread anymore, because my baby laptop crashes under the weight of so many vids. Edited by user 14 April 2013 13:06:45(UTC)

Ah, Galaxie 500. They did a good cover of NO's Ceremony way back in about 1990, way before it became fashionable to cover JD or NO songs.I did used to have this on 12" once upon a time.
