Notes
Released in a A4 gatefold sleeve.

The audio mastering on individual tracks suggest that they have come from a variety of sources.

The instrumental version of "Waiting For The Sirens' Call" on CD 2 is the sole previously unreleased track here (to date). A Rich Costey instrumental mix of the song was released in 2005 on a CDr promo but the version here is different and based on the original album version.

so most of the tracks aren't anything new.

i've already recreated these promos now, with almost all the tracks.

if you're going to do it, use the remasters, including singles.

you will have to edit down 'here to stay' by 10 seconds, unless they messed up and used the standard 3:57 edit,
which is what it should have been.

i didn't bother with the cover songs, although i had 2 of them.

i was hoping it would show up on the internet at some point, or maybe i just missed out.

and for the good stuff, the album instrumental of 'waiting for the sirens call',
so here's my attempt:

waiting for the sirens call(album instrumental):

and a dub:

The packaging is very nice. Prices have been all over the place on this,
but it doesn't show up often anymore. I remember when it came out,
but i wasn't looking to buy anything for the last few years.

sometimes things show up eventually.

I own this and also the Joy Division Universal book from a few years previous. They're pretty unremarkable items that go for bizarre amounts.

Definitely nice to have but the prices have become eye watering so I don't envy any fan trying to nab one today. I think I got my NO one for about £100 almost 3 years ago. There's no way in hell it's worth £300.

As Discogs states, the only real rarity on it is the WFTSC "Band Mix" Instrumental as opposed to the Rich Costey Instrumental that remains promo-only.

The Here To Stay edit is definitely the standard 3:57 single version. That was an error in the original submission of the duration.

Speaking of which, the JD one is on Discogs for £200.

Worth every penny for that Grace Jones dub alone Wink

Grace Jones was the first artist to cover JD, with her Cuntrol Bside. Before the glut of YouTube, it appeared with a dub on the double Private Life collection. If you want to hear it, don't. It is total and utter shit.

I have it and I really do ;)

Saw Destroyer play a low-key gig at a local pub here a couple of years ago. Rather brilliant imo though quite on another planet. Which is no bad thing.

Not my cup of tea for sure, but I've found it more ballsy than the majority of JD/NO covers

I was joking. Grace Jones makes Arnold Schwarzenegger look like Baby Spice. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XLLtS50UCBQ
That cover just doesn't work though. As a reviewer pointed out, it provides about as much insight into mentale disorder as They're Coming To Take Me Away, HaHa. Give me Mel C and True Faith. Actually, just the first half.

So what was the story with this promo set? I vaguely remember a thread about it on here some years ago , seeing the pics and stuff . Shocked to realise it was nearly 5 years ago though, time flies and all that eh? But what was the reason and timing for its release? Just seemed quite a random thing. No I don’t own a copy and haven’t tried to obtain one. Just trying to get my round what the point of it was. I guess I’m at risk of sounding like sour grapes that I don’t have a copy but that’s really not the case, I’m just curious about the point of it.
