Did you listen to the Pet Shop Boys concert they did with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra last Wednesday night in Salford, kc? It was broadcast on Radio 2 the following evening.Bernard Sumner was in the seated audience apparently

I bought the special edition "Elysium" 2 disc set but honestly can't seem to get into it. "Leaving" is very Radio 2, bit pedestrian.

Much prefer "Yes" from 2009 which was excellent and a proper electro-pop album; This Used To Be The Future was on the bonus CD.

Hopefully this new one will grow on me as the weeks go by but from the listens I've given there seems to be far too many bloody ballads.

The rhythm of Neil's words don't sound like they fit the melody of some of the tunes either.

They should just do a full on electro album like Disco 3 and play to their strengths.

Memory Of The Future - it's on the new album and their next single I believe.

This Used To Be The Future is a duet (not in a naff way) with Phil Oakey from the Yes era - non-album track.

Better than most of this new LP to be honest! Tongue

Got round to listening in full to Elysium, finally. Quite a few stinkers on this album IMHO.Your Early Stuff , the joke quite quickly wears off and the song is a b side best as are Ego Music, Hold On and Give It A Go. Though i thought Winner was dreadful at first when it came out last summer i do like it now, maybe it'll be the same with those stinkers i've listed. Strongest track for me is Breathing Space. Can understand what Ally says about too many ballads but this ballad is well worthy of a place on any Pet Shop Boys album.

Their previous album Yes is a much better album. Bought that on release but only played it a few times but have dug it out again recently and i'd go as far to say it's actually one of PSB's best albums. King Of Rome is ( though a ballad again) fantastic..Love pretty much every song on the album ( The Way It Used To Be, especially).Probably the only song i don't get on with is the closing track, Legacy .Remember watching them on telly at Glastonbury 2010 as part of the Pandemonium tour for the Yes album - fantastic show, absolutely brilliant.
