Can some explain?

Slightly undervalues New Order's award, I mean what has this geezer done that's so good, worked with a TWAT that pushes flowers up his arse?

What next THE CURE - SERVICES TO PIE EATING - actually that works Smile

"Not content with rewriting the history of music with one of the world's greatest ever bands, The Smiths, he's continued to push boundaries and evolve throughout his career, working with some of the best and most exciting artists on the planet."

Morrissey - Exciting - hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha that's great Big Grin

Lol

I like a lot of his guitar work but he was never a patch on Terry Bickers of House Of Love. Check out his work on HOL's Fontana/ Butterfly album from 1990 - Sublime. And also his guitar on songs like Love In A Car from HOL's first album.

he's a peerless guitarist. the smiths were a magical combination of words and music, whatever you think of that daft old diva moz.

and as much as i like JM, nothing he's done since has set my world on fire.

as for this award, i can't stand either weller (since he went solo) or gallagher (at any point, ever). i wonder if they're only getting it because they all have the same stupid hair. next year - wiggo.

A talented guitarist and songwriter...and a (former?) member of two groups I like--- The Smiths, and Electronic. The interviews he gives are entertaining to read, too.

Peerless? I'd say Robin Guthrie of the Cocteaus was one of his peers and was infinitely better.

As for Morrissey, i give you Tony Wilson's view of him taken from an interview in 2003..Take it away, Tony...

"... he's a miserable git....he's actually one of the most miserable. . . he's actually, let's be really honest about it, he's actually a nasty person, as a human being. As was John Lennon. Because he treats good human beings who help him - this isn't me, I've never helped him, I'm fond of him because I'm fond of his talent and his creativity - he treats excellent good human beings who try to help him like pieces of dog dirt. He tramples on them. It's not his fault, he's just a terribly unpleasant human being, in terms of pure human values, he is not a nice person."
Why do you think he's like that?
"I've no idea. Some people are nasty people. One of the things was, from the beginning, very cleverly, when he was doing his second gig, he behaved like he was Little Richard, like a major pop star. With that arrogance, with that treatment of other people. That was his thing and it worked. But he's a miserable, he's not a nice human being."

Well said, Tony :applause:
