well i've heard hundreds of new great songs and great new bands on BBC6Music this year, some of which i can remember and that made a lasting impression, wish i could remember them all
Favourite song of the year though was Emmylou by First Aid Kit
others off the top of my head
Everest by Public Service Broadcasting Spitfire by Public Service Broadcasting
Grimes- ( cant remember name of track, that one which starts off like Kraftwerk's Autobahn )
Gabrielle - Valentino ( this possibly released late 2011 though?)
iamamiwhoami - Goods
er, loads of others, when i sober up i may remember some more

found it, this is that Grimes one, starts off like Autobahn. she should ditch her name though " Grimes" is really off putting and misleading

i'm not sure but i think this makes you a hipster, johnny. a predictable list from me - tindersticks, hawley, beach house, lambchop, grizzly bear. i still need to give first aid kit some attention, and i've not heard the john murry album but would like to. mike, i love that typo.

One huge anthem I missed in 2012: Photographer - Airport
Simple, yes, but it rocks... (And my apologies if a Taylor Swift advert ruined your viewing, but I don't run YouTube...) |
