Well there was that TOTP Christmas special from 1977, among other highlights it featured Legs & Co.'s interpretation of ELP's "Fanfare For The Common Man". I had the (mis)fortune so see this twice..Smile

what a twat he indeed is, one of my personal highlights of 2012 was trampling all over the pseudo intellectual Blur fans' picnics to get to the front for New Order at Hyde Park and then getting the hell out of that place long before the twat Albarn got anywhere near the stage lolz

But that show was the centrepiece on Christmas night on both BBC1 and over here on RTE1, I think I ended up watching part of a concert by Andre Rieu on Christmas night,
there was nothing else on Eek
although earlier in the evening there was Other Voices which featured Richard Hawley, that was a highlight I guess...Wink

Oh was it good ? Did see it is on iplayer, may try and catch it while it's still available then. Watched that Restless two parter thing about the spy in world war 2 . I don't know , it was alright but just didn't fully hit the mark for me somehow . Watched that film Moon, last night - that was pretty good .

oh i LOVED moon! i like how the robot subverts sci-fi tradition by being a goodie. and i like his faces. he single-handedly changed my attitude towards emoticons. didn't like the end though, felt it was a little too neat. agree with you about restless. the first episode seemed v slow, especially. (my mate tom played angus, the scottish fellow with the sticks!)

there are a few good films still on iplayer, i think. i'm going to re-watch blade runner. also looking forward to catching up with the sound of music 'behind the scenes' thing, and the tove jansson doc.

That Moon film I did see a while back and yeah it was a pretty good performance by Sam Rockwell,
good that David Bowie's son turns out to be talented in his own right..
That Johnny Cash biopic is on later tonight but I doubt that I will get to see it..

Watched The Girl.Yeah i enjoyed that, really good. Hitchcock was portrayed as a right monster wsn't he, blimey.

Yeah Moon's ending was all exremely neat wasn't it. What a bugger it'd be finding out you're a clone with implanted memories though.

Charlie Brooker's 2012 wipe on NOW. Got a couple of his books for christmas - hilarious and brilliant.

i think hitchcock really was a bit of a rotten bastard. i find it fascinating that despite his obvious insight into sexual desire and dysfunction, he was so guilty of it himself. the plot of vertigo is very reminiscent of his relationship with tippi hedren. there are a couple of good books on this i want to read now. and it will be interesting to see the anthony hopkins/helen mirren/scarlett johansson take on this theme when that film comes out. (btw, speaking of SJ, if i was unimpressed with her before, that LUDICROUS perfume ad has really tipped her over into major irritant.)

nope, nothing to do with cloning, just very very good.

let me just ruin carey mulligan AND scarlet johansson:

julian assange looks like carey mulligan

young christopher walken looks like scarlett johansson

i wonder if he likes his lips. for kissing.

Yes, a very clever film. So many twists and turns I should watch it again ideally.Good to see Andy Serkis is in it.
Scarlet Johanssen is IMPOSSIBLY beautiful , sorry! Watched The Girl With The Pearl Earring with her in not so long back.

blerg! fish of eye, pig of nose, generally wet dishraggy. rebecca hall much lovelier. you have terrible taste in women.

glad you liked the film though. it's definitely worth several watchings.
