I was sure this was gonna be a wind up...but no.
Well, I Told You So does sound like it's the Stuart Price mix. Considering how long we have been aware of the 'Sugarcane' song title, it's kinda disapointing (cheesy). Californian Grass sounds like it might be a decent tune but need to hear more of it. There's a nice piano sound going on on Recoil. Nothing here to really blow you away though, no WFTSC or even Krafty. Mind you, the lyrics on Shake it Up and I've Got A Feeling sound like offshoots from Krafty. Still, it's definitely on it's way; we can own it and move on.

I've especially liked 'I'll Stay With You', 'Sugarcane', 'Shake It Up, ' and 'I've got a feeling'. The songs in general (on the entire album) remind me of a mix between the albums Twisted Tenderness and WFTSC. Strangely, I think some of these songs sound better than some of the songs on 'Get Ready'. I'm not too disappointed right now.

Jesus! Well to be honest these should have been saved for the WFTSC deluxe edition i think! Shake it up sounds especially awful. I made the mistake of thinking Jetstream was the worst it was going to get. Californian Grass sounds reasonably promising but not much else to get excited about. Its hard to judge properly with previews but it sounds worse than i expected.

I'll stay with you sounds sweet as hell!! Pumped these are finally getting released. No way these are left over tracks, they were meant for an album release. Really can't wait till this comes out. 2013 should be a great year for New Order!!!

Helene's Friend on the French forum has kindly come up with a way of listening to all the clips continuously. Is this easy to do? I'm not too hot on computer-y stuff... http://www.jcpacaud.net/LostSirens.mp3

I'll Stay With You (was Sister and Brother, right?) sounds great at firts listen, and Californian Grass is very good too. Except for its title of course. Sugarcane's silly but ok in a Krafty sort of way. The rest seem like duds at first listen, but may not be - for example, the preview for I've Got a Feeling stops right before the chorus. Dodgy lyrically but that's to be expected for the period. Sirens could've been one great album really.

Thanks for this. It's cool cos the trax sound okay and it means this more than a pipe dream. So as I'd like Melanie C's legs to ask me, how do you feel about us? Well... 1 is clearly Sister and Brother which Hook played with the Light and I have vague memories he also played it as a DJ. Sounds fairly strong to me, as long as Bernard doesn't lapse into his crapse 'Things're all right' poise. 2 The title was touted way back in 2004. Could be BL (which could be a compliment) or Wings (which couldn't). 3 Thumbs up - seems one of those melancholy dreamy songs I fell in love with NO over (think Second Nature, This Time of Night, even Vanishing Point). 4 - Bit clunky to me. Bit formulaic too. Need to hear more. 5 - I feel sorry for Brutal, no one wants an abortion. 6 - That kinda funky break reminded me of Crystal and Poisonous Intent. Could def get into this one. 7 - Again, it has that clunky feel - drums, guitars, lyrics all over the place. Years back I read a review of Revenge (my least favourite NO moment) saying every NO had a moment that trundled along with all the grace and finesse of a three-wheeled supermarket trolley: Technique had Guilty Partner, Low Life had the second side, One True Passion has the first side too. Too early to comment. 8 - Must be the remix. Really not that bad in its own right, but the beginning of the end for listeners of Sirens. So, overall, I'd say I'm intrigued. And not disappointed once more (see what I did there?). And as I'd like Melanie C's legs to tell me, you can have us and get into us gradually.

sugarcane and californian grass sound nice, the only bad thing is waiting a whole month to hear the full songs before it is released in January 2013 or maybe it might end up online before. |

The lyrics (and title) of I'll Stay with You are hilarious in context! "Were his words cruel? / Were they unkind? / That guy's a fool / He's crossed the line" Staggering!
Much of the rest are hilarious for all the wrong reasons...chalk up yet another 'watcha doin'' in track 2, sunshine and rain metaphors in Californian Grass, lurching list of cliches in I've Got a Feeling...
Recoil sounds interesting, look forward to hearing more. Shake it Up sounds like a Twisted Tenderness track. There is hope. It's a shame this couldn't have been snuck out more quietly as a curiosity for fans, the fanfare and controversy that has built up around it was only ever going to lead to a non-event in the bigger scheme of things.

From what I've heard these songs have a different feeling than the Waiting For The Siren's Call album. It is clear that they were meant for the next album that would have been released if Peter Hook did'nt leave the band.
