Not sure if this was posted already, but Johnny Marr listed Stephen as the drummer of his fantasy supergroup line up. Not sure about the rest of the lineup, but at least he has the drummer spot on. http://www.nme.com/blog/index.p...ne_up&more=1&c=1

Steve is a great drummer and vastly underrated in my opinion, people might roll their eyes when someone says things like that on a neworder website but his timing and his other contributions to the songs are on a par with the best of them.
bernard ommission isnt to surprising when he didnt even add morrissey.

I was in the room with Johnny when this question was asked by NME and he had a lot to say about Steve basically being exhibit a for modern drumming technique. Was a good listen.

Steve's drumming on Lonesome Tonight was described as "Freeform drumming" by a famous drummer that I can't recall the name of once. I liked the description anyway . One of his best ( of many) drumming on that song.

Thanks for that, sounds good.
"The Messenger" on YouTube sounds good as well, looking forward to the album.
I still remember that Healers LP from about 10 years ago, not perfect, but The Last Ride is a proper in-yer-face guitar track.
The new album's out in Feb, yeah?

More Marr on Sumner in Quietus here - only a tiny mention but he claims he's "the coolest person he'd ever met".
