Had some spare time to listen to the piano rave classic I Know by New Atlantic. This is a version I hadn't previously come across: http://youtu.be/QAfvqxiKvTUthough I still prefer the Love Decade mix best: http://youtu.be/wNe258ZOvso |

In the past few days I've been listening to Madonna's Celebration a lot, after a few months of not listening to it (My 3-year-old niece has been asking me to play it everyday, so I kind of rediscovered it because of her). I have the Deluxe 2 CD version of Ceebration, her latest greatest hits album, which I bought last January. I don't like every song, of course (there are some dodgy song, which are the most recent tracks) but it includes most of the 80s songs that are not included on The Immaculate Collection. And it was really cheap, which was rare as it's double album. So, I had to buy it. Maybe The Immaculate Collection is more consistent in quality, but it's incomplete, so if you like all her 80s singles, you should buy this instead. Edited by user 01 October 2012 15:08:48(UTC)

So following my post on this thread where I wishfully suggest that it would be nice to have WFTSC Planet Funk mix on CD it appears that someone somewhere does. And they have the Planet Funk dub which I don't believe made it on to the 12 x 12"s. I had never heard the dub until just now, assuming that 'Planet Funk dub remix' is the same thing as 'Planet Funk Dub'. In which case you can listen to it in full below. Incidentally this 'megamix' appears to actually be unmixed.

Gil Scott Heron. I'm New Here. Got it on Random with the Jamie XX version of the same album. Both wonderful even if My Cloud does sound like a headache. Edited by user 02 October 2012 07:21:21(UTC)

Tim Burgess Oh No I Love You. Well worth a listen. Country and North Western, they're calling it, although it does go a bit Chardonnay and Tears at times, breakup album as it is. Audacious use of horns.
Also worth looking up the story of his it was conceived, written and recorded.
Lovely. |

i am listening to 'haiku salut', which i think is a good name for a band. i also like their wardrobe choices. haiku salut live sessionat first i didn't like the title 'sounds like there's a pacman crunching away at your heart' because i thought it was hipsterish, but it turns out it's a reference to dance dance dance by haruki murakami. quotes from dance dance danceand i read the quote and i really liked that too, so now i'm also reading the book.

Like this more than the original a-side, as with many of New Order's 1980s b-sides ( In A Lonely Place, Confused Instrumental, Shellcock etc.). |

I don't know if you've ever had a copy of the limited edition 12" vinyl single of World In My Eyes, but if you haven't, the B-side ( Happiest Girl) remix that you can also find on the second ' the remixes' compilation titled ' The Pulsating Orbital remix' is worth listening to.
