Hi all. I was wondering if anyone has discussed using the recently utilized tech that helped isolate John Lennon’s voice for the new Beatles song to isolate Ian’s voice for Ceremony. I really like what the band came up with but it would be cool to know what words Ian was trying out in the demo. https://ultimateclassicr...rison-janis-joplin-tape/ |

The Ceremony rehearsal tape by all accounts was recorded on a Boombox in the corner But it's still possible to isolate the vocals - they just aren't very clear. The words the band deciphered correctly obviously stand out as they are hard programmed in our heads...the rest...well you decide https://file.io/HiinKVAtQFNRWhat's clear is that they got a LOT of the lyrics wrong, as it doesn't sound anything like what Ian was singing

I no longer have Debbie's book, and don't remember the lyrics to "Ceremony" being in it. But I do remember the "Avenues all lined with trees" line cropping up a couple of times in Ian's notes that were included. Though obviously only a rehearsal version (recorded the afternoon before their final gig) this transcription seems mostly accurate:
