Me too!
I wonder whether, as it involves "the Joy Division Archive", Johnny James is working on the project. Perhaps some live material will be used.
Maybe the date ties into the release date of the JD live box that's being worked on.
JJ - anything you can share on either project at this point?

Received an email today about this too - but almost lost it within all the excitement over the Substance reissue https://www.pacegallery.com/cp1919/Quote:CP1919
Peter Saville, Stephen Morris, and the Joy Division Archive

Anyone got any idea what format the £100 edition comes on?
The description seems very vague about what you get for your £100.
I get the impression this is a 3D film with a soundtrack (with a unique t-shirt).
Is it a download or a physical format (on blu-ray)?

Ah, just seen Stephen Morris retweeting this from Brian Cox. Looks like y'all beat me to it with a new thread.

As Alan Partridge once said ‘That’s disconcertingly vague’.
Yeah, I’m confused too.
If they want us to part with £100, perhaps they should be a little more specific.

i have no interest.
but its a set of videos, and the music that go along with it. probably digital, on some sort of USB stick or disc.
thats what i got out of it.
$100 isn't much for that.

Thanks for the link, Andy.
Watched the YouTube video that was embedded and it does sound quite interesting.
I'm not sure I'm going to part with £100 for something that is basically a digital file (if you don't count the T-shirt), but I'd certainly like to see/hear it once it gets released.

Quote:the “CP1919” vocal samples include two phrases from the live version of Joy Division’s “Atrocity Exhibition,” the opening song on their second and final album, “Closer.” The recordings had never been released. Wonder which gig this is from then?

It was played on 6music this morning from 28 minutes https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m001qv8kInterview with Peter Saville that is a bit pretentious, then they play the Stephen Morris edit of the music track (which is only 1 m 24s long) - then an interview with Stephen which is much more down to earth and then they play the same 1m 24s edit of the track again He says the snippet of Ian singing is from 2 lines he would sing in Atrocity Exhibition at gigs that didn't make it to the recorded version - I can't quite work out what he's singing, but sounds like it's just "going no place" repeated 4 times EDIT Just realised that there is now also a slightly longer 2 minute version of the audio on the video at https://verso.pacegaller...he-joy-division-archive/EDIT EDIT It looks like the 2 minute version is the whole thing - not sure why they had to crop it down to 1m24 on the radio If you go here https://verso.pacegaller...2-4b29-8187-67234a95ceb3it looks like you can actually download the video in high res by hovering over the video in the bottom left, clicking the 3 horizontal buttons and selecting download so all you actually get for your $100 is the t-shirt Edited by user 06 October 2023 07:09:50(UTC)

Many thanks for the links.
Weird that it's the whole thing, available to download on their website.
So, all you get for $100 is a hi-res version and a t-shirt. Crikey!

Yes sorry - the download version of the video is 1080p, I guess (or at least I'd hope!) the actual NFT version would be 4k Still not yet found a live version of Atrocity Exhibition where he sings these "extra" lines. Anyone had better luck?

"Going all the way," as heard at High Wycombe for example. https://www.youtube.com/...YnJ1YXJ5IDE5ODApIA%3D%3D
