Looks like 'Outernationale' did a new remix of 'You Don't Know This About Me' and snuck it out (download-only) late last year: Slipped out pretty quietly under the radar. No idea what it is like yet but there is a clip on the Juno site which I have not listened to yet. I've checked other digital retailers I.e. iTunes, Qobuz etc. and it seems to be pretty widely available. The artwork looks a little odd and doesn't bear any resemblance to the official Freebass stuff from 2010... Anyway, for those interested... can't believe it's almost 8 years already since that material was originally released. The original version of YDKTAM is a genuinely strong track but it's just a shame the album wasn't, in my opinion. Enjoy... or not (who knows).

I took the plunge and purchased today (79p for a FLAC copy off Qobuz).
I like how the intro is built around the synthy-sequencer bit in the middle of the original track which is probably the best thing about it. The intro has a passing resemblance to Your Silent Face which might just be my imagination or a deliberate nod. What is it with Freebass remixes recalling New Order tracks?! Fritz Von Runte did something similar with making YDKTAM sound like Ceremony.
Aside from that, most of the Burgess vocal is mostly intact as well as Hooky bass. Only slight criticism would be the arrangement is a bit busy, not exactly subtle. 'Big Beat' and loud for sure.
Definitely non-essential but another niche addition to the side project back catalogue.

You are right. Weird...
Maybe they should not have been on general release in the first place?

In todays Sun we are informed that Freebass are set to return, Peter is quoted in an 'exclusive chat' (doesn't say who with) "there are a lot of Freebass recordings people have never heard. It would be a wonderful homage to Andy (Rourke) to let people hear them."
Sounds like a Freebass version of Lost Sirens, ie a collection of sods and sods: I still haven't got round to tracking down a copy of the Freebass album, and all I remember of the show at the 100 Club when that was released is someone spilling a pint over Peter: I don't know if The Light have played any Freebass songs in live shows (the only I've been to was a night of the two Substance albums)?

We have never heard new Monaco or The Light stuff. I doubt we'll hear any new Freebass stuff... |

I don't think the suggestion is there will be new stuff, probably just going to be stuff that wasn't used when the first album came out (not sure how much demand there is for stuff like this)
