Yes, on the download version of Bernard's Renegade mix there is a guitar solo from 3.43 to 4.12 that isn't on the vinyl version. On the vinyl version the same melody in that time section is on a synth instead. The download version length is 6.25 whereas the vinyl i timed at a bit longer at around 6.31 On Bernard's Renegade instrumental there is a guitar solo from 3.22 to 4.02 on the download which doesn't appear at all on the vinyl. The download version of that mix is 6.18 whereas on the vinyl it's 6.31 again. I suspect it's merely a mistake, no different than the variations of In a Lonely Place.

Thanks, that seemed more likely to me. It's one thing to miss spotting a mix that has a few thunderclaps a bit higher in the mix, and allowing that slip out. It seems another entirely to miss spotting mixes that have additional guitar parts. If we were back in the Factory days though, I'd totally believe it was a mistake.

Well I ripped the vinyl versions of Bernard’s renegade and renegade instrumental so anyone that didn’t buy the vinyl and hadn’t heard the versions without guitar , PM me with an email address and I can send them using WeTransfer.
The rips aren’t brilliant quality as my ripping software isn’t the best but they’re fairly listenable.

Thank you Fotz I listened to and compared the two versions of the Bernard's Renegade mix. The structures are the same. IMO, the different timings are due to the speed of the vinyl.

If anyone has access to a reasonable scanner, and also has the vinyl, any chance of a scan of the Mute sticker? There’s a sample photo a page or so back, which gives an idea of what it’s like. Would just be nice to get an actual scan.
I just bought the FLACs of the ‘digital’ versions and thought it might be nice to have a copy of the sticker scan for the appropriate folder.
PS 10 pages of discussion of one track. Most of it positive too (although negative opinions are good too). That’s pretty decent and proves that we all still love the band.
The five of them need to take heed and start working on some other tracks. <fingers crossed>

i think it proves: 1) there's nothing else new to talk about 2) the discussion about all the tracks in power corruption lies boxset has come to an end, even though there's a lot more to discuss there 3) the band isn't doing anything else, besides books and interviews, and not many people are talking about that this just happened to be convenient, because its the first new/old music from them in a long time. later -1

We need militant voices like MM's + others or they'll sit on their arses doing podcasts and talking about the past for the rest of their days. A mediocre single after 5 years that sounds like Sophie EllisBextor isnt a good sign and reckon that's it as far as new material goes. I think Music Complete was done to show PH they could still do it but thats it now - pipe and slippers time.

So those of us who paid f**k-all for the download have got a more "complete music" than those who forked out for the vinyl. Lovely. Somewhere on here I mentioned that an AOC writing session makes the hairs on my arms stand up in a way that BAR just doesn't. I stand by that. Also thinking back to Music Complete, I don't think any of the album tracks had ten pages of thread dedicated to them, and yet most of those tracks are better than this one. Now if Unlearn This Hatred or Nothing But A Fool had just been released for the first time, I would personally be much more excited than I currently am... As you allude to in your own comments those militant voices probably aren't gonna stop "pipe and slippers time". I suspect Bernard et al will listen to us about as much as they listen to social media comments saying "bury the hatchet with Hooky". If everyone said "Im not gonna buy another NO gig ticket until they release a new album", it might have an effect. But we have two hopes of that happening. And Bob Hope is already a gonner...

I’m assuming from a filesharing site then? Fair play, I’ve done that many times before. I bought the vinyl and it had a download code for the different mixes that Bernard tweaked the guitar parts on to, the “ complete music “ versions.

I wouldn't disagree with what -1 is saying.
I think I was just trying to see the positives out of this. 10 pages is pretty good for a thread on these boards. There's so little being discussed 'round here these days, with only a handful of us regularly posting. Imagine if either Be A Rebel or the PC&L set hadn't been released this year. I'm not sure where our energies would've been focussed on. Probably not on these boards, sadly.
As I mentioned, all comments are good, both positive and negative. It's just great to have some discussion.
negative1 - My 'fun sponge' comment was made with tongue planted firmly in cheek. I was just jokingly reacting to the fact that you'd brought me back down to Earth with a bump, using a good solid dose of 'fact'. :-)

I boycotted NO gigs from 2006 and their next album was Lost Sirens so that kind of backfired and I haven't been back as it's much the same (apart from MIF). The only thing I've bought since was Music Complete on CD. No box sets/12" reissues, or PCL socks so I'm probably not their target market. I might buy Steve's book though.

there would still be 10 pages of discussion between just the few people that constantly post. like us, because we talk about little detail. half of these pages are filled with. when is it coming out, i ordered it, i got it, i hate it, etc........ so that's not really adding much. as far as discussion goes, we're discussing the discussion of the discussion. kinda meta right. anyways, back to cataloging tracks. later -1
