I highly recommend HBO's I'll Be Gone In The Dark, a limited docu-series about the Golden State Killer. It was all down to the work of Patton Oswalt's late wife Michelle McNamara, who was a true crime writer.
In the first episode they play a big chunk of Ceremony, from a time when Patton was on the radio in Los Angeles. He comes out of the track announcing "That was Ceremony by New Order" before going on to interview his wife.

Not too many duffers in that list. From Pixies to Chaka Khan đ. A number of those tunes/artists feature on a triple CD I picked up in Sainsbury's for a fiver today: "The Edge Of The 80s".(Sony/UMC)*. Yeah I realise I could just hit the Spotify playlist embedded in that article but I still like to buy physical stuff and stick it on the stereo every so often. (No JD/NO on my comp tho). *The September 2020 comp, not the 2008 one of the same name which has both JD and NO on it Edited by user 22 October 2020 10:14:44(UTC)

Ok, not really NO/JD spotting, but am I the only one who thought of JD regularly whilst watching The Mandalorian? Surely the answer to the question at 5.38 is: Atrocity Exhibition.
âď¸Why doesn't this embed? I used to be the king of this! Click https://youtu.be/WlxuSILjRl0 [Edit: Fixed]. (BTW if, like me you don't subscribe to Disney+ but want to watch The Mandalorian, you can do so on any Android device. Feel free to ask me if you need more details) Edited by user 02 November 2020 11:33:41(UTC)

(unlike me who's horrible at this, what on earth am I doing wrong? Cant post a video properly nth time in a row) I think you're doing two things wrong: a) I think it's because you're posting a 'shortened' version of the link, possibly from a mobile device. You need the link to look like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8s9Vji72Z0rather than this: https://youtu.be/_8s9Vji72Z0b) you also need to get rid of the 's' from 'https' So, between the bookends, you need to post http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8s9Vji72Z0Here you go:
Oh, and as regards the song, that's pretty nice pop. Bright and cheerful. I liked it. Interesting to hear it in a different language.

A rock/music photography docco apparently. Click.Sky Arts is free to air in the UK these days. Will probably get repeated.

Missed that episode , well I wasnât aware of it til Debaserâs post. Set the tv box to record any new or repeated episodes . Have watched the last couple . No Steve & Gillian on those ( episode 5 and 6 I think) but maybe sometime in the future the series will be repeated and my tv box should automatically record . So eventually Iâll get the episode with S & G , all being well. Quite a good series from what Iâve watched. Covers all aspects of music photography, music mag photos, music photography in the digital age and so on.

Thanks Fotz.
Actually, I've just been able to watch the episode in question (episode 1) via Now TV.
The S & G bit is only about 2 minutes long and focuses (pardon the pun) on Cummins' iconic 'bridge' shot. Most of that is taken up with an interview with Kevin, with Steve hardly saying anything and Gillian not speaking. Unless they were interviewed later in the episode (haven't watched it all yet) or later in the series, it hardly seemed worth their appearance fee.
I was only able to record the footage using my iPhone pointed at my MacBook screen. Less than satisfactory quality-wise, but it'll do for now.
If you do happen to get a better quality recording or notice them appear later in the series, please let me know.

Yet another top 30 ranked New Order songs thing in the Guardian today. Iâm sure theyâve done this at least twice in recent years. Or was the previous one a where to start with New Order thing ? Alex Pretidris has done this latest one https://www.theguardian.com/musi...0-greatest-tracks-ranked

In fact, I noticed the article a few hours ago and didnât bother reading it, as I just assumed it was an old article. Although I always quite like to read stuff like that, it all seems fairly pointless. Itâs just one personâs view. I prefer the thing that âSlicing Up Eyeballsâ did a couple of years back where they got fans to vote. That was far more interesting, IMO.

I first heard it in 89 but it was a radio edit that lost the lush intro. I always assumed the 12" was an exended rather than 'proper' version. How the fuck could Retro drop TLU but include the Alan Wise Intro? Oh, yeah! Cos they're total and utter fucking shit. Sorry, I forgot.

Sometimes I forget that the keyboard player from the Communards and the Rev Richard Coles are the same person. I wonder if Steve got as sick of Don't Leave Me This Way as I did. He might be too polite to say...
