is it true they are bringing rock the shack back into the setlist. that song is one of the worst they done. plus surprised they brought 586 and round and round back
they have so many classics they could bring back like leave me alone lonesome tonight mr disco sooner then you think. subculture. vanishing point proceson.
they should drop the joy divison songs and just play new order.

If that's based on something you read on the old forum, I wouldn't take it too seriously... If you have any insider knowledge ... They're slowly mixing things up a bit.. Looking forward to Sirens on SUnday hopefully... [thumb] Snorri xxx |

They were probably just riffing rock the shack... in fact they could have been riffing shoot speed kill light as it has the same guitar line.

anyone else disspointed last night. the set seemed shorter then the last time they played brixton.
i was looking forward to hearing here2stay and 1963 but they didnt play them. the brought back transmission so its near enough the same set they always play at brixton.
there was no surprises and the new songs they played was the averge round and round and586
they should drop the joy divison songs and play just new order. fed up hearing the greatest hits
anyone else think the same
highlight of the night was elega and perfect kiss and true faith

I don't like the new version of elegia, it's weak and doesn't have any dynamic, it needs that bass line, it nees to have the build and fall, it just feels like a false start, they need to shake up the running order a bit too. |

I don't think Barneys new yacht and retirement fund tour has much more effort setlist wise left in it. Current setlist is it. Even In Oz he looked a bit bored at times, but hey-ho just count the feckin money.
Would love to be proved wrong and for HURT and Lonesome Tonight and others to reappear on the setlist, would be on a plane pronto. Don't really see it happening. Festival setlist is a done deal.

Since the great computer crash of 1989, New Order setlists have been very static, by and large. When they played Brixton in 2001, the only variation was swopping out "Rock The Shack" for "Ruined In A Day" on the second night. The idea that the current setlist is the same as 2005 isn't quite accurate : since 2005 they have added Elegia, Love Vigilantes, Age Of Consent, 586, Perfect Kiss, Here To Stay, Round & Round, 1963 to the set which is around a 40 minute change to the standard 90 minute set. And True Faith has been rearranged. Some of those songs haven't been played in over 20-25 years, and some have never been played.
NO have hits. Big ones. Not everyone trawls the forums or sees them every show on a tour. Some people only go see them once every decade. Some people only see them once ever. Seeing them play "Blue Monday" 39 gigs out of every 40 is not a big deal. It could be worse. Roger Waters plays the same set in the same order every night of his tour. 110 shows in a row without a change.

Agree, also have said many times before that 99% of any audience are seeing the set for the first time its only the posters on here who are aware of what has been played when and where. We should also remember that what they play has fuck all to do with us, they are the artist and they should play what they feel like playing, after all it's their job and they need to enjoy it. markreed wrote:Since the great computer crash of 1989, New Order setlists have been very static, by and large.
