Hey all. So, over on another board for a different band it was said that one of their previous albums was going to be reissued for Record Store Day as a colored vinyl. Thing is, it was only going to be available via this Love Record Stores day. I had no idea what that was, so I did a quick search and found this site: https://www.loverecordstores.com. While browsing the releases for Record Store Day on the 20th of June, I saw that they have New Order's Music Complete being reissued on double orange vinyl. Here's the page you want to go to: https://www.loverecordst...e-record-stores-releases

I had to use a magnifying glass to magnify the orange square in the upper left hand side of the album cover to figure out what was so special about it. It's also going to have a 12 page booklet and a digital download code. Happy hunting!

Thanks.

Interesting but don’t think I’ll buy. I’m guessing the 12 page booklet is just the same one that comes with the standard release album. If it’s something different then I may buy but I don’t think it will be.

Almost as pointless as the Repubelick orange CD. How do they do it? What's their secret? I guess we'll never know.

WFTSC aside, I don't think I've ever been as disappointed in NO artwork as with that useless booklet

12 Pages barely scrapes the butt of fuck all. Take away the cover and you're left with a grand total of two shits of paper. I counted. I studied at Cambridge.

I think I kept my clear vinyl from the box set, even though I sold it on. Subbed It for the black copy

What do you make of new Doves comeback single, NotAMod? Seem to recall from on here that you’re a fan of them, yeah? I posted the new and fantastic vid on listening thread

Definitely! I think it's absolutely superb; a real grower and unmistakeably "them". Off the back of that I can't wait for the new album.

It's got that melancholic undertow throughout and interesting to discover the drums were in fact a sample of the late Tony Allen.

Nice tripped out video too...

I just miss the days when we got CD singles with a b-side or two. It's all "key tracks" now.

Yep its pretty bloody good. Not quite a There Goes The Fear but then i don't think they'll ever top that. The new song has that mega awesomeness Doves sound and their renowned hope through the darkness vibe.Kind of not a massive departure from their previous stuff but then in some way it is! Saw them live last year and they were just immense and wonderful.New album is completed and ready, Steve Lamacq said when he premiered the the song on Thursday.

Managed to nab an orange Music Complete from Piccadilly before they sold out.

And I like the Doves track.

Had tickets to their cancelled Melbourne show in 2011, about the time things started unravelling within the band. Hope they get back here.

OT but what the hell

I saw doves once in 2001 or 2002, delgados in support. At the time I was yet to really get into new order/factory/Manchester scene so their heritage was lost on me, but it was a fantastic gig and really blew me away.

I’m glad they’re back on the job and hope I get to see them again one day.

“There goes the fear” is indeed top class but they did get close to that height again with “kingdom of rust” I thought.
