I'd always remembered this song from the early/mid 80s as it was something Anne Nightingale would often play on her Sunday night Radio 1 request show.Never remembered who sang it though, until this week i read of the singer Cristina having died from Corona Virus.Turned out it was her that did this song, or at least this version.Nancy Sinatra did the original i think.Cristina apparently was quite a face on the New York No Wave scene of the early 80s.Always liked the way she sang this version of Is That All There Is? RIP

Well i went for it and bought a smoke machine.£30 off Amazon plus £9 for the 5 litre bottle of fog fluid required.Pour a bit of the fluid into the chamber, plug in, let it warm for 4 minutes and when the red light comes on you press the button on the wireless remote and voila, you have smoke and have your very own home disco effect. You have to let it then cool down for a few minutes before pressing the button again for more smoke.I made a little home video after um, a few drinks.Kraftwerk - Showroom Dummies 2.40 edit from the 12". Soundtrack added on after from the mp3 & synced in Movie Maker . You can see the smoke release and lights at around 1 minute 5 seconds in.The lights only come on for the 20 seconds or so the smoke ejects.Enjoy.

I am listening to 'Il cielo è sempre più blu'. It is total and utter fucking shit. It doesn't fucking mean fuck all. I reckon it was improvised when they were all pissed. 'Per quella che si chiama Francesco, per quella che mangia sul cesso, per quelli chi hanno i pulci, per quelli che amano Bellucci, per quella che va in messa, per una mangusta lessa...' Then they always sing it like it's really meaningful, 'Il cielo è SEEEEEMpre più blu.' Well fuck you, you useless fucking pretensious fucking sub fucking Karaoke XFactor reject fucking dickrashes, you make Posh sound like Pavarotti. Really. Just fuck you. Coronavirus ain't bad enough already? Fuck you. No joke coming. Fuck you.

Today's interesting fact about pop music In 1993, both New Order and the Pet Shop Boys released a new album apiece. Both albums were produced by Stephen Hague, both albums had a limited edition pink sleeve, both albums contained a track called Young Offender, and both albums were total and utter fucking shit.

I am watching the Spice Girls' iconic comeback single 'Headlines'. It is total and utter fucking shit. How depressing that even the coolest, funniest, sunniest, sassiest, sussiest girls in the biz ultimately degenerated into yet another sad, clichéd, sub-Madonna please-pull-your-plonker-cos-mummy-and-daddy-blocked-your-porn-connection-the-bastards spunkfest. You can almost hear their pathetic, weedy little '''''voices''''': 'Please wank to me... PLEASE Sir... Look: I have two titties, just like Katy Perry... Tell me they're not worth a drop of your spunk, Sir. (sob) Tell me you can't eke out a dribble of jizz for old Ginge, Sir.' Girl Power, eh? And the funniest part is that whenever women degrade themselves, it's always men's fault. Women always go on about being the more self-aware, in-control sex, but with shit like this it's always, 'He told me to.' That's the excuse you get from a four-year-old, isn't it? 'Why did you throw stones at my cat?' 'He told me to. He smells of pooh! He not my fwends any more!' 'If he told you to jump off a cliff, would you do that?' 'No, Sir.' 'Why not?' 'Don't know, Sir.' Melanie C is lucky my love is blind.

^ You're probably right. But why are you telling a New Order forum? You wanna tell a Spice Girls forum where they can point out to you that by this time, all 5 girls had won multiple song writing plaudits from Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan and Ivor Novello himself!
When you say they degenerated into a spunkfest, you mean they hiked their tits up a bit (apart from Mel C who doesn't have any)?

Always good to visit this video from time to time. It's very those dark and weird sci-fi series that used to be on around teatime/home from school in the 70s.Shots of electricity pylons, the pylons always meant danger and menace haha! And there was always someone driving around in a Land Rover who was going to take charge of the situation.Think Changes or The Tomorrow People. Those kind of dark and weird sci fi series were just normal teatime viewing for kids in the 1970s.

You buggers, why didn't any of you tell me that Boards Of Canada did this kind of stuff? For years, since maybe the late 90s i had assumed they were a Canadian grunge metal band.Had never heard any of their stuff but then heard this recently and was gobsmacked to learn it was them. They're actually a Scottish dance/electronica band? Every day's a school day eh

The ever brilliant and bonkers Flaming Lips have the answer for the future of gigs during the time of Corona Virus. "Two scientists are racing For the good of all mankind Both of them side-by-side So determined Locked in heated battle For the cure that is their prize"

The synth sound and melody on this is simply wonderful. It almost, almost has an end of the pier seaside vibe.Or maybe it's just me.I guess the synth is played by the late and dear Carey, RIP. I love Traceyanne's vocals on this.Wow.

^ Yep, I’m really feeling that new Doves song after a fair few plays now. It’s big, deffo a big one. Jimi, Andy and Jez have created a top tune there. Maybe not quite up there with There Goes The Fear which left me gobsmacked speechless back in 2002, really rocked me to the core that one but the new song really has something, I’ll say that.
