I haven't been a superfan since the mud-90s. It was a combination of four factors... Living outside the UK pre-Internet made it hard to track down new releases. Moving from one shitty bedshit to another I found vinyl too bulky. I was sick of London's policy of accompanying every newbie with 460976875564564 rip-offs. My personal favourite was two years to track down Lionrock's third 1963 remix when it had fuck all New Order in it - my fault cos the two official mixes should've warned me. Duh. Obsessing over a band is a tad adolescent. When you get to my age you develop more mature interests like philosophy, psychology and Melanie C. (This is a joke. Philosopy is boring. So is psychology.) There was a band that did a cover of All The Way at Reading 1993 and absolutely butchered it.
Think they were called New Order or something.

Since someone mentions the Errors cover I was reminded of this whole album which is remarkably strong https://www.discogs.com/...-Covered/release/3322279Edit: there are 30 second previews of every track on that album here: https://soundcloud.com/m...-corruption-lies-coveredI'm contemplating dumping it onto archive.org's music collection since it's not available to buy any more (although it's cheap 2nd hand on discogs) Edited by user 06 January 2020 02:16:48(UTC)

you guys need to start your own thread.
this was supposed to be for 'good' covers, not horrible, watered down ones.
that would be a better place for those.

Imaginative take on one of their best songs, note-perfect band and the lickworthiest shoulderblades in the universe. What more do you really really want? The first official cover was Grace Jones' SLC, an obscure B-side. It is total shit. By a curious coincidence, it featured Sly n Robbie, who were responsible for the equally fuckingly shitty RIAD 2nd CD. see you in 10 years, guys? Edited by user 10 February 2020 04:20:03(UTC)

later -1 Well, ‘good’ is very subjective. Although I don’t personally like the Mel C one, others might. Similarly, ones you like might not be to my taste either. Maybe you should retitle the thread ‘Cover versions that negative1 likes’. Edited by user 10 February 2020 05:57:52(UTC)

The Light have to be experienced in the proverbial flesh. On CD or Youtube you just get carbon copies with Hooky's ''''''''vocal'''''''' - live they're awesome. Years ago I bought the Blue Order covers CD. The funny part is that when the arsistant went to get the CD itself he thought he was out of earshot and commented, 'I played this this morning. It's shit.' He was right.
