PART 1 Thieves Like Us, Age of Consent, and In A Lonely Place , and a line from Only Angels Have Wings, " Who's Joe ? "
PART 2
A At least 2 more studio albums, in 2020 a 3 record set of incredibly beautiful guitar and synth songs ,with a couple of moody blues type songs , a Residents type theme of wonderful dark music on one side, a few Syd Barrett type clever songs ,a long song like Echoes , and energetic blissful groovy psychedelia, and maybe called Get Ready Again, and then in 2025 a final extravaganza of superlative songs to blow everyone away with killer music and lyrics
B Play a 2 hour set live in the best venues and in beautiful places , rest up a bit for 60 minutes and come back out and play another 1 1/2 hour set, and during the break have interesting souveniers like action figures, including Peter, and New Order playstation games ,magazine books
3 I forgot what else ,besides i probably said all this last year.
4 A 3rd release - a 2 hour bootleg of heavy metal that will make everybody that ever liked a lot of metal cry and cry and ask why why
We're like kestrels

Keepin' it real as always Mr KIC! It feels like you have shoe-horned two different subjects into one. I'm not sure why film links relates to what you want from future NO...

Additional thoughts on film stuff.

Ultraviolence (one word) was pretty much coined by Anthony Burgess when writing A Clockwork Orange - which was also a film of course. The film/book was also responsible for band names Heaven 17 and Moloko.
Dracula's Castle: There was The Blood of Dracula's Castle (1969). Fair to say that Dracula (and his castle) is kind of a cinematic thing?

More tenuous ones:
Temptation - films from 1935, 1946 and more.
Broken Promise: Lots of films called Broken Promise from 1925 onwards.
Paradise: There was a 1982 film called Paradise starring Phoebe Cates. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Avalanche: There was a 1978 Rock Hudson/Mia Farrow film with this name (yeah, I 'm pushing it here)
Stray Dog: There's a 1949 film with this name.
The Game: Film better than the song, I reckon. Directed by David Fincher, starring Michael Douglas & Sean Penn.
Hellbent: Hell Bent (1916), Hellbent (1988 & 2004)

Speaking of NO song titles but not films. Can we assume that People On the High Line refers to this High Line?.
Perhaps this is something all of our American forumites already know/assume?

Hey, I like the song. To me, it’s the last track in the LP, as I never listen to Superheated (bleurgh!).

As regards the film, it’s ok, but it’s completely ridiculous. There’s no way that the group (can’t remember their name) could control all the different variables.
Yep, ridiculous.

I suppose another film link is ‘Murder’, but based purely on the ‘Caligula’ and ‘2001’ samples.

Regarding People On The High Line, think Bernard did say in an interview he'd travelled on the high line thing and it influenced the title .

Massive thanks to everyone about film stuff. Fotz, Perspex ,Andy Michael, Debaser, ,everyone is awesome ,and maybe double or triple awesome to put up with my posts
As for wishes ,well i would not mind another prozac album like Electronic 2 and /or non prozac albums like Electronic 1 and 3.
Also - the mojo , uncut , and music mags with cds are great, but it takes time to check out everything . I had never heard Cat Power ,Khruangbin, and Deerhunter ,Lanz, Still Corners just to name a few from the latest uncut . I search and stream and find out there are at times 5 or 6 albums by each to check out .
Praying for another lifetime or two just for music ,and golf is the answer . Maybe languid sex too .
And as i must have said at least once,New Order music must be part of the afterlife..
Also - maybe S and G ,and B have grandchildren that can beg them to make more albums , as all my little nephews and nieces know how great NO are, at 5 or 8 or even 4 years, and are eager for lots more NO
And lastly
Is anyone going to the Malta show?

We're like kestrels

just as some of our best pop rock music is beloved over there.
Top 6 countries worldwide for music

2, USA music
3, German music ,plus their classical hotties
4,Frenchies
5 Inuit music , with whales and some rattlesnake and chuckwalla sounds imported or sampled
6 , Brasil music

Thieves Like Us
Perfect Kiss
Confusion
Blue Monday

In fact I reckon you could take any new order song title and find there’s a film or tv show that shares the same name.

There's also a line of dialog in Through a Glass Darkly (Ingmar Bergman) about "drawing a magic circle around me" that immediately reminded me of the lyrics to Temptation. It seems like the band or at least Bernard were big Bergman fans.

This has GOT to be a coincidence. I can't imagine coked-up Bernard and whore-bonking Hooky analysing The Silence of God trilogy all night. There's the Cries and Whispers reference, but they always said that song titles were random and often taken from film posters. I'm not convinced there's a connection.

I tried watching Through A Glass Darkly once and I think I got bored after about ten minutes (not much dialogue IIRC). This probably makes me a heathen or an ignoramus or something. I have no idea whether Bernard was or wasn't influenced by it. But if he wasn't, I think it's fair to say that there's still some existential thinking going on in those lyrics. This would suggest that Bernard (and maybe Hooky who liked a bit of F Scott Fitzgerald and Orwell) was still capable of some philosophical thinking despite the coke.

Don't be afraid to say something bores you. It's better than the usual, 'Oh I LOVE Bergman.' - 'Really? Cos there's a 45 hour retro. Wanna come with me'' - 'Ummmmmmmmmmmmm.'
The problem is that you can overinterpret. Any thoughtful lyrics will touch upon the same eternal topics - it doesn't necessarily mean a conscious influence. I once read an article about how The Catcher in The Rye was a reworked Wasteland by T S Eliot. It was total ad utter fucking shit.
